Physics demos for all UVEG degrees: a unique project in Spain

Abstract The Physics Demo Project at the University of Valencia ( www.uv.es/fisicademos ) has developed a collection of physics demonstrations to be used during lectures. It consists of more than 130 experimental demos about different physics topics. More than 30 professors borrow them whenever they lecture on physics in any of our 40 courses in 17 different science or technical degrees, involving 246 ECTS and more than 3500 students. Each demo kit with a simple experimental set displays a particular physics phenomenon. Contemporary performance art by Helena Walsh: embodiment as empowerment in an Irish context

Ever since the 1970s, performance artists have used their bodies as a means to question the patriarchal control of women. In Ireland, where the body is at the center of debates over contraception, abortion and divorce, feminist performance art has proved particularly pertinent to substitute the real experiential body to the allegorical or fetishized female body. Through her performances, Helena Walsh incites the viewers to respond to the effect of ideology on the physical body. Embodiment, impersonation and incorporation make the body explicit and reopen historical wounds.

W latach 80. XX wieku ruch pokojowy mobilizujący setki tysięcy osób w protestach przeciwko podwójnej uchwale NATO z grudnia 1979 r. był istotnym elementem zachodnioniemieckiej sceny politycznej. Wpływał na układ sił i konflikty wewnętrzne w socjaldemokracji niemieckiej (SPD), będąc największym oponentem polityki prowadzonej przez rząd kanclerza Helmuta Schmidta, przyczynił się do powstania Partii Zielonych, a jego działania doprowadziły do zaistnienia polemiki w związkach zawodowych i były bodźcem do dyskusji etycznych i religijnych w Kościele katolickim i protestanckim w RFN. Stał się również przedmiotem wielu kontrowersji oraz symbolem aktywności i siły społecznej.

En este artículo mostramos la posibilidad de utilizar los gráficos interactivos disponibles en Internet para la docencia en la universidad acorde con la nueva metodología docente que implica la convergencia de España hacia el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior. Mostramos un ejemplo concreto de utilización de esta tecnología en la enseñanza de Microeconomía en la Universidad. En particular explicaremos la noción de Equilibrio Walrasiano en el caso de una economía sencilla de intercambio simple representable en la caja de Edgeworth mediante el gráfico interactivo: Walrasian Equilibrium or Disequilibrium.
