The approximate subdifferential of composite functions
1993
This paper deals with the approximate subdifferential chain rule in a Banach space. It establishes specific results when the real-valued function is locally Lipschitzian and the mapping is strongly compactly Lipschitzian.
Qualification conditions for multivalued functions in Banach spaces with applications to nonsmooth vector optimization problems
1994
In this paper we introduce qualification conditions for multivalued functions in Banach spaces involving the A-approximate subdifferential, and we show that these conditions guarantee metric regularity of multivalued functions. The results are then applied for deriving Lagrange multipliers of Fritz—John type and Kuhn—Tucker type for infinite non-smooth vector optimization problems.
Noncoincidence of Approximate and Limiting Subdifferentials of Integral Functionals
2011
For a locally Lipschitz integral functional $I_f$ on $L^1(T,\mathbf{R}^n)$ associated with a measurable integrand f, the limiting subdifferential and the approximate subdifferential never coincide at a point $x_0$ where $f(t,\cdot)$ is not subdifferentially regular at $x_0(t)$ for a.e. $t\in T$. The coincidence of both subdifferentials occurs on a dense set of $L^1(T,\mathbf{R}^n)$ if and only if $f(t,\cdot)$ is convex for a.e. $t\in T$. Our results allow us to characterize Aubin's Lipschitz-like property as well as the convexity of multivalued mappings between $L^1$-spaces. New necessary optimality conditions for some Bolza problems are also obtained.
Comparative study of different approaches for the flow injection-fourier transform infrared determination of toluene in gasolines.
1994
Abstract A single channel flow injection manifold has been employed to carry out the direct determination of toluene in gasolines by FT—IR without any sample pretreatment and by using different strategies. Toluene can be directly determined by measuring the absorbance at 728 cm −1 , using a base line established between 835 and 575 cm −1 ; and in this case a limit of detection of 0.01% (v/v) can be obtained with a dynamic range up to 2% (v/v). In some cases it could be convenient to determine toluene by derivative flow-injection FT—IR in order to avoid matrix interferences in the analysis of some types of gasolines. Carrying out the first order derivative FI—FT—IR measurements on the 728 cm…
The effect of the type of colloid on the efficacy of hypertonic saline colloid mixtures in hemorrhagic shock: dextran versus hydroxyethyl starch
1993
Colloids increase and prolong the efficacy of hypertonic saline solutions in hemorrhagic shock. We compared the efficacy of dextran 60 and hydroxyethyl starch (HES) 200,000/0.5 at iso-oncotic concentrations of 6.5 or 6% in a 7.5% NaCI solution. Thirty-two rabbits were bled to maintain a mean arterial pressure at 35 mmHg. Twenty-five percent of the shed blood volume was replaced after 40 min by bolus infusion either with hypertonic dextran (HS-DEX) (n = 16) or with hypertonic hydroxyethyl starch (HS-HES) (n = 16). The animals were then observed for a 120-min period. In both groups immediate and complete restoration of cardiovascular function was achieved in up to 30 min and adequate restorat…
LC-MS/MS characterisation and determination of dansyl chloride derivatised glyphosate, aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA), and glufosinate in foods of…
2021
Abstract Glyphosate and other polar and acidic pesticides have been particularly studied due to the concerns over widespread and intensive use. The chemical properties of these compounds necessitate use of customised methods, such as derivatisation or ion exchange chromatography. These approaches present a compatibility problem with ESI-MS due to presence of salts and non-volatile compounds. For that reason, a simple procedure has been developed for the extraction, pre-column derivatisation with dansyl chloride (5-(dimethylamino)naphthalene-1-sulfonyl chloride), and mass spectrometric detection of glyphosate, AMPA, and glufosinate after the separation on a C18 stationary phase. The dansyl d…
Stochastic response of a fractional vibroimpact system
2017
Abstract The paper proposes a method to investigate the stochastic dynamics of a vibroimpact single-degree-of-freedom fractional system under a Gaussian white noise input. It is assumed that the system has a hard type impact against a one-sided motionless barrier, which is located at the system’s equilibrium position; furthermore, the system under study is endowed with an element modeled with fractional derivative. The proposed method is based on stochastic averaging technique and overcome the particular difficulty due to the presence of fractional derivative of an absolute value function; particularly an analytical expression for the system’s mean squared response amplitude is presented an…
Chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer
2017
Background Gastric cancer is the fifth most common cancer worldwide. In "Western" countries, most people are either diagnosed at an advanced stage, or develop a relapse after surgery with curative intent. In people with advanced disease, significant benefits from targeted therapies are currently limited to HER-2 positive disease treated with trastuzumab, in combination with chemotherapy, in first-line. In second-line, ramucirumab, alone or in combination with paclitaxel, demonstrated significant survival benefits. Thus, systemic chemotherapy remains the mainstay of treatment for advanced gastric cancer. Uncertainty remains regarding the choice of the regimen. Objectives To assess the effica…
Study of the influence of temperature and precipitations on the levels of BTEX in natural waters.
2013
Assessment of seasonal changes in surface water quality is an important aspect for evaluating temporal variation of water due to natural or anthropogenic inputs of point and non-point sources. The objective of this paper was to investigate the influence of seasonal temperature fluctuations and precipitations on the levels of BTEX in natural waters. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to evaluate the seasonal correlations of BTEX levels in water and to extract the parameters that are most important in assessing seasonal variations of water quality. This study was carried out as a part of VOCs monitoring program in natural water samples from Mediterranean coast. To carry out this proj…
EXACT SOLUTIONS FOR A CLASS OF FRACTAL TIME RANDOM WALKS
1995
Fractal time random walks with generalized Mittag-Leffler functions as waiting time densities are studied. This class of fractal time processes is characterized by a dynamical critical exponent 0<ω≤1, and is equivalently described by a fractional master equation with time derivative of noninteger order ω. Exact Greens functions corresponding to fractional diffusion are obtained using Mellin transform techniques. The Greens functions are expressible in terms of general H-functions. For ω<1 they are singular at the origin and exhibit a stretched Gaussian form at infinity. Changing the order ω interpolates smoothly between ordinary diffusion ω=1 and completely localized behavior in the …
