Hydrogen Peroxide Diffusion through Enamel and Dentin

2018

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the in vitro diffusion of commercial bleaching products (hydrogen peroxide (HP) or carbamide peroxide (CP) based) with different application protocols. Human enamel-dentin discs were obtained and divided into 20 groups. Four commercial products based on HP (Pola Office+(PO), Perfect Bleach (PB), Norblanc Office-automix (NO), and Boost (BT)), and one based on CP (PolaDay CP (PD)), were evaluated with different application protocols (3 applications &times

Burnout Syndrome in municipal health managers

2016

Surface Reconstruction Based on a Descriptive Approach

2000

The design of complex surfaces is generally hard to achieve. A natural method consists in the subdivision of the global surface into basic surface elements. The different elements are independently designed and then assembled together to represent the final surface. This method requires a classification and a formal description of the basic elements. This chapter presents a general framework for surface description, based on a constructive tree approach. In this tree the leaves are surface primitives and the nodes are constructive operators.

Loneliness predicts suicidal ideation and anxiety symptoms in long-term childhood cancer survivors.

2020

Abstract Background/Objective Long-term childhood cancer survivors (CCS) are at risk for adverse late effects. However, not all of them are well understood. The present study addressed loneliness, a previously under-researched mental health risk in cancer survivor populations. We assessed the prevalence of loneliness and its impact on psychological symptoms over time. Method: A registry-based sample of N = 633 adult long-term CCS underwent medical and psychological assessments and took part in a follow-up survey 2.5 years later. Psychological symptoms (somatic, anxiety, depression symptoms, and suicidal ideation) were measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire. We calculated linear reg…

Self-efficacy and perceived control in the prevention of cardiovascular disease

2010

Semi-empirical Hartree-Fock calculations for KNbO 3 and KTaO 3

1997

As a first step in modeling the electronic structure of Perovskite-type ferroelectric mixed crystals K(Nb,Ta)O3, semiempirical calculations for pure KNbO3 and KTaO3 are performed with the intermediate neglect of the differential overlap (INDO) quantum chemical method. The calculations are mostly done for 40-atom supercells. The choice of the INDO parameters based on the comparison of results with ab initio and experimental data is discussed. INDO results for the equilibrium geometry and the (Gamma) -TO phonon frequencies are given. The results show that the accuracy of the INDO method is sufficient for reliably reproducing the energy differences on the order of 1 mRy (per formula unit) scal…

Demonstration Tasks for Assessment

2017

International audience; Learning from animations is conventionally measured using static assessment tools such as multiple choice tests or extended answer questions. These tools tend to rely heavily on textual information both for presenting the assessment items and as the medium for learner response. However, such assessments are not well aligned with the defining dynamic, pictorial characteristics of animated learning materials. This chapter considers the potential of demonstration tasks to offer more appropriate assessments of learning from animation. In these tasks, learners interact with a manipulable model of the animation’s subject matter to provide an explanatory account of how it c…

A Group-theoretical Finiteness Theorem

2008

We start with the universal covering space $${\*M^n}$$ of a closed n-manifold and with a tree of fundamental domains which zips it $${T\longrightarrow\*M^n}$$ . Our result is that, between T and $${\* M^n}$$ , is an intermediary object, $${T\stackrel{p} {\longrightarrow} G \stackrel{F}{\longrightarrow} \*M^n}$$ , obtained by zipping, such that each fiber of p is finite and $${T\stackrel{p}{\longrightarrow}G\stackrel{F}{\longrightarrow} \*M^n}$$ admits a section.
