Two-particle correlations in pp, (p)over-bar(p)over-bar and (KSKS0)-K-0 pairs from hadronic Z decays
2005
Two-particle correlations in pp, and pairs have been studied in hadronic Z decays recorded at LEP with the ALEPH detector. The correlations were measured as a function of the four-momentum difference Q of the pair. For pp, pairs a depletion of events is observed in the region , and for pairs an enhancement of events is observed in the region . These features are consistent with expectations from Fermi–Dirac and Bose–Einstein statistics, respectively.
Advanced Spectroscopic Detectors for Identification and Quantification
2013
The coupling of vibration spectroscopic detectors to liquid chromatography (LC) is an interesting analytical tool that allows combining high resolution from LC with molecular specific information accessible by infrared (IR) and Raman spectrometry. This chapter describes the basics of IR and Raman spectroscopy with a special emphasis on the advantages and pitfalls of these detection techniques in LC. Two fundamentally different coupling approaches, namely, off-line hyphenation involving the physical elimination of the mobile phase and on-line hyphenation through the use of flow cells, are discussed in detail, describing the most important interfaces and diverse practical applications. Strate…
Emission tomography with a large-hole collimator (CACAO): a possible new way to improve radionuclide imaging.
2002
This work aims to improve the quality of scintigraphy. It evaluates the use of a large-hole collimator, the Computer Aided Collimation Gamma Camera Project (CACAO), in SPECT. Acquisition data from the same object were simulated for CACAO and for a conventional collimator. Better signal-to-noise ratios were found for CACAO images, whatever the number of emitted photons. This work demonstrates that high-resolution images may be obtained with large-hole collimators. The combination of CACAO and pixilated detectors may further improve radionuclide imaging.
Soft errors in commercial off-the-shelf static random access memories
2016
International audience; This article reviews state-of-the-art techniques for the evaluation of the effect of radiation on static random access memory (SRAM). We detailed irradiation test techniques and results from irradiation experiments with several types of particles. Two commercial SRAMs, in 90 and 65 nm technology nodes, were considered as case studies. Besides the basic static and dynamic test modes, advanced stimuli for the irradiation tests were introduced, as well as statistical post-processing techniques allowing for deeper analysis of the correlations between bit-flip cross-sections and design/architectural characteristics of the memory device. Further insight is provided on the …
