EXTRACTION OF ΛΛ SCATTERING LENGTH
2009
We determine ΛΛ scattering parameters from a ΛΛ invariant mass spectrum that was obtained by 12 C (K-, K+ΛΛ) reaction at the KEK Proton Synchrotron. In the framework of Watson's procedure, the obtained scattering length [Formula: see text] and effective range [Formula: see text] are most consistent with the values predicted by using the Nijmegen soft core models (NSC97's). However, the predicted values by using the Nijmegen hard-core ND ( G -matrix) and the extended soft-core (ESC00) models are out of two standard deviations from the determined scattering parameters.
Frequency Deviation Due to a Sample Insertion Hole in a Cylindrical Cavity by Circuital Analysis
2007
One of the most widely used techniques for dielectric material characterization is the partially filled circular cavity. The exact analysis of this structure is well known in the bibliography. But in practice when the measured material is introduced through a circular pipe below its cut off frequency a problem arises. Traditionally the tube effect is neglected, but then some errors appear, whose magnitude depends on the material properties and the cavity and tube dimensions. In some cases, the errors introduced are noticeable and the tube effect should not be neglected. Some authors have tried to evaluate in a simple way this effect, but their equations are valid only in a restricted range …
Combined Search for the Standard Model Higgs Boson Decaying tobb¯Using the D0 Run II Data Set
2012
We present the results of the combination of searches for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a W or Z boson and decaying into b bbar using the data sample collected with the D0 detector in p pbar collisions at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We derive 95% CL upper limits on the Higgs boson cross section relative to the standard model prediction in the mass range 100 GeV <= M_H <= 150 GeV, and we exclude Higgs bosons with masses smaller than 102 GeV at the 95% CL. In the mass range 120 GeV <= M_H <= 145 GeV the data exhibit an excess above the background prediction with a global significance of 1.5 standard deviations, consistent with the expectat…
Evidence ofWWandWZProduction withlepton+jetsFinal States inpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV
2009
We present first evidence for WW+WZ production in lepton + jets final states at a hadron collider. The data correspond to 1.07 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron in pp collisions at square root s=1.96 TeV. The observed cross section for WW+WZ production is 20.2+/-4.5 pb, consistent with the standard model and more precise than previous measurements in fully leptonic final states. The probability that background fluctuations alone produce this excess is <5.4 x 10-6, which corresponds to a significance of 4.4 standard deviations.
Hadronic inputs to the (g– 2)μpuzzle
2016
There is a long standing discrepancy of 3 – 4 standard deviations between the direct measurement and the Standard Model prediction of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (g – 2) μ . While new direct measurements have been proposed to clarify the situation, theory calculations are completely limited by the accuracy of the hadronic contributions to (g – 2) μ . In order to increase their precision, experimental information can be used as input. In this presentation we will discuss recent and future measurements of relevant hadronic cross sections and transition form factors.
Search for the Standard Model Higgs Boson in the Diphoton Decay Channel with4.9 fb−1ofppCollision Data ats=7 TeVwith ATLAS
2012
A search for the standard model Higgs boson is performed in the diphoton decay channel. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s=7 TeV. In the diphoton mass range 110–150 GeV, the largest excess with respect to the background-only hypothesis is observed at 126.5 GeV, with a local significance of 2.8 standard deviations. Taking the look-elsewhere effect into account in the range 110–150 GeV, this significance becomes 1.5 standard deviations. The standard model Higgs boson is excluded at 95% confidence level in the mass ranges of 113–115 GeV and…
New Accurate Fit of an Extended Set of Saturation Data for the ν3 Band of SF6: Comparison of Hamiltonians in the Spherical and Cubic Tensor Formalisms
2000
An extended set of 321 frequencies of vibration-rotation lines of the nu(3) band of SF(6) has been measured by saturation spectroscopy using various isotopic species of CO(2). A least-squares fit of these data has been performed using an effective Hamiltonian written either with a spherical tensor or with a cubic tensor formalism. We have derived correspondence formulas between the parameters in the two approaches and checked that both formalisms give the same results up to the seventh order. Corrected parameters are given for the fit with a fifth-order Hamiltonian. An accurate representation of the band is obtained at the tenth order (standard deviation approximately 12 kHz) with a remarka…
High-precision measurement of the proton's atomic mass
2017
We report on the precise measurement of the atomic mass of a single proton with a purpose-built Penning-trap system. With a precision of 32 parts-per-trillion our result not only improves on the current CODATA literature value by a factor of three, but also disagrees with it at a level of about 3 standard deviations.
Study of resonance interactions in polyatomic molecules on the basis of highly accurate experimental data: Set of strongly interacting Bands ν10(B1),…
2016
Abstract The highly accurate (experimental accuracy in line positions ~ ( 1 − 3 ) × 10 − 4 cm − 1 ) FTIR ro-vibrational spectra of CH2=CD2 in the region of 600–1300 cm−1, where the fundamental bands ν10, ν7, ν4, ν8, ν3, and ν6 are located, were recorded and analyzed with the Hamiltonian model which takes into account resonance interactions between all six studied bands. About 12 200 ro-vibrational transitions belonging to these bands (that is considerably more than it was made in the preceding studies for the bands ν10, ν7, ν8, ν3 and ν6; transitions belonging to the ν4 band were assigned for the first time) were assigned in the experimental spectra with the maximum values of quantum number…
First Assignment and Line Strengths of the 4ν4 Band of 12CH4 near 1.9 μm
2001
Abstract The investigation of the methane spectrum in the region 1.6–2 μm has provided the first assignment and analysis of the 4ν 4 band near 1.9 μm. Hamiltonian and dipole moment operators written in tetrahedral formalism and adapted to the extrapolation method have been used to fit the spectra recorded at the Kitt Peak National Observatory/National Solar Observatory. Nearly 190 line positions and 160 measured intensities have been modeled with standard deviations of 0.107 cm −1 and 18.5%, respectively.
