The Black Block : Opaque Page as a Graphic Device

The black block, a rectangle of black printing ink on the page of a book, surrounded by blank margins, is a peculiar graphic device. Its literary tradition has usually been considered to start from Tristram Shandy, which includes a renowned black page in memory of “poor Yorick”. Nevertheless, Sterne’s gimmick can be seen as an allusion to an older typographical tradition of the so-called mourning pages, which were featured in books remembering the departed decades before Tristram Shandy. Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts matu un lūpu produktu reklāmās lietotais vārdu krājums un leksiskie izteiksmes līdzekļi. Pētījums apskata instrumentus, ar kādiem reklāmas pārliecina pircējus iegādāties konkrētus produktus. Darba mērķis ir analizēt un salīdzināt vārdu krājumu matu un lūpu produktu reklāmās, kā arī uzzināt, vai tajos ir atšķirības no valodniecības viedokļa. Pētījumā tika pielietota kvantitatīvā un kvalitatīvā pētījuma metode. Rezultāti liek secināt, ka matu un lūpu produktu reklāmās lietotā valoda ir līdzīga. Šajā darbā tiek pētīta mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļu izmantošana mazumtirdzniecības nozares rakstos. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai biznesa žurnāla Forbes autori, izskaidrojot vienu izplatītu mazumtirdzniecības tēmu, mēdz izmantot mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļus savos rakstos, kā arī atklāt galvenos mērķus mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļu izmantošanai tajos. Pētījuma metode bija diskursa analīze kopā ar biežuma analīzi, izmantojot kvalitatīvo pieeju, īstenojot Skrebņeva klasifikāciju (2003). Abstract Reading on digital devices has become a widely debated issue in mass media and academia. The dawn and consolidation of digital technology have made possible new devices for reading. In the Internet era, reading is not just a matter of books and paper. This loss of exclusiveness has generated different anxieties in many intellectuals, researchers, journalists, editors, and publishers related to the printing environment. An analysis of such uneasiness can provide clues about the hidden interests and misunderstandings implied in their arguments. Revealing anxious claims about digital devices can enlighten us about the multiple factors and interests involved in the act of reading.
