Coronary Stent Strut Fractures: Classification, Prevalence and Clinical Associations
2021
Introduction. The frequency, characteristics and clinical implications of Strut fractures (SFs) remain incompletely understood. Methods and results. A total of 185 (160 patients) newer-generation drug-eluting stents (DES) were imaged. SFs were found in 21 DES (11.4%) and were classified in four patterns: one single stacked strut (41%)

Spēles naratīva analīze: “Half Life” franšīze
2022
Pētījuma galvenais mērķis ir atklāt, kā stāstījumu tehnikas pielietotas video spēļu franšīzē Half-Life. Pētījumam izvēlētas četras franšīzes Half-Life un Half-Life 2 spēles.
Identifying the Neurocognitive bases of creativity to increase human and computational creativity
2022
Device For Ultrasound Tests
2015
A device (1) for ultrasound tests, comprising one or more transducers (4) for generating ultrasound beams with different powers and/or frequencies to be projected in direction of a plurality of targets (11), guaranteeing the separate control of the temperature both of the targets and of the transducers and it allows performing several tests contemporarily, by optimizing the functionality and the efficiency of the device, at the same time by guaranteeing results comparable therebetween for each test, and to this purpose it comprises: a first supporting structure (3) having at least a closed chamber (7; 23) receiving the body of said one or more transducers (4) and it is isolated from a propa…
Noise-induced phenomena in transient dynamics of short and long Josephson junctions
2008
The investigation of nonlinear properties of Josephson junctions (JJs) is very important due to their broad applications in logic devices. Currently, all Josephson junctions are manufactured with the use of optical and electronic lithography, and they can always be considered as distributed. Moreover great interest recently has attracted, from theoretical and experimentally point of view, the investigation of the influence of thermal fluctuations in macroscopic quantum phenomena of short and long Josephson junctions. Particularly the role of the noise on the life time of the superconductive state has been subject of many investigations. In fact for some devices, as the rapid single flux qua…

Tracking oneself for others: communal and self-motivational value of sharing exercise data online
2021
Self-tracking is increasingly popular in recreational sport. Leisure sports practitioners use wearable devices that are connected to online platforms to record, analyse, and share their exercise data. While doing that they interact with a digital system, with themselves, and with peers. This paper examines social-communicative aspects of self-tracking, and the support that these aspects and their associated practices may provide for physical activity behaviour. Data for the study was collected using an online survey and in-depth interviews with Finnish trail runners. The results indicate that sharing exercise data with others on a regular basis can support physical activity behaviour becaus…
Rewilding Language Education: Emergent Assemblages and Entangled Actions
2021
Integrating concepts and techniques from ethnomethodology and sociomaterialism, this article investigates the observable material processes involving human action and place‐based contexts of language use enabled by locative media. The focal pedagogical intervention utilized mobile augmented reality (AR) activities, the development of which was inspired by research on learning ‘in the wild.’ Applying the principle of reverse engineering, we introduce a pedagogical approach termed ‘rewilding’ for its emphasis on designing supportive conditions for goal‐directed interaction outside of classrooms. Three instances of AR materials use are presented from an out‐of‐class activity associated with un…
Blue Emitting Organic Light Emitting Diodes
2019
Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) [1] can be fabricated on a range of materials such as glass, silicon or flexible plastic substrates. This can be exploited for the realization of integrated OLED-based fluorescence chemical sensors [2] and microfluidic systems [3] for application in areas such as biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, public health and defense. These devices hold promises to be cost effective, ultra-compact (including the possibility to be fabricated into large bidimensional arrays), and capable to handle smaller sample volumes in order to achieve high throughput. Blue light is advantageous because it is strongly absorbed by most sensing molecules attached to bi…
