Murteentutkimus on yksi kielitieteen tärkeimmistä aloista. Murteita on tutkittu paljon, mutta juuri Kivijärven murteesta ei ole aiemmin tehty yksittäistä tieteellistä tutkimusta. Tutkimusaiheenani on kivijärveläisten nuorten puhekieli ja sen vaihtelu. Tutkimuskysymykseni ovat: 1. Kuinka paljon kivijärveläisten nuorten puheessa on vielä jäljellä vanhaa Kivijärven murretta? Mitä murteellisia piirteitä heidän puheestaan on hävinnyt? Mitä piirteitä perinteisestä murteesta on säilynyt? 2. Mitä piirteitä nuorten puheeseen on tullut yleiskielestä tai mahdollisesti muista murteista? Työni on sosiolingvistista tutkimusta. The main purpose of this study is to describe and to understand the intercultural couples’ relationships in Finland from the relational-dialectics perspective by Baxter and Montgomery (1996). Following the interpretive research tradition, in this qualitative study, data were collected from 18 heterosexual intercultural couples (36 persons), utilizing the multi-method approach. The multi-method approach in this study includes theme interviews (5 couples), concept map interviews (six couples) and e-mail interviews (seven couples). Atlas of the Baltic Languages: Plant Names of Slavonic Origin The article investigates Slavonic-derived plant names in dialects of the two surviving Baltic languages – Latvian and Lithuanian. Historically, these Slavonisms were originally adopted by small-scale regional dialects, which are now disappearing. In 2009, a pilot study for the Atlas of the Baltic Languages was published. It comprised 12 geo-linguistic maps with Latvian, Lithuanian and English commentaries. 2012 saw the publication, in CD format, of the Atlas ’s first volume: Lexis 1: Flora .
