Abstract This article investigates the dynamics of contemporary Romanian, focusing on various linguistic structures typically used on social network sites, through which the specific content and interaction strategies are being deployed in virtual communities. Resumen Con la llegada del siglo XXI, las obras académicas en español empezaron a mostrar un mayor interés por el anglicismo léxico, reflejando así el uso generalizado que sociedad y medios de comunicación hacían de él. Paralelamente, la accesibilidad que supone la digitalización de corpus académicos, como el CREA y el CORPES XXI de la Real Academia Española, permite investigar la progresión de estas voces en los textos que los componen.
