Ethnic differences in utilization of online health information sources : A test of the social inequality hypotheses

The goal of the current study was to understand ethnic differences in use of online health information sources. Social stratification and social diversification hypotheses were used as study’s theoretical framework. The data were obtained from the 2017 Israel Social Survey (N = 2166). Multinomial and logistic regression techniques were used for the multivariate analysis. The results suggest that Israeli Arab respondents were less likely than Israeli-born Jewish respondents to seek health information using the Health Funds’ call centers or websites, other websites, and to utilize any number of the online health information sources. A Comparison and Survey of Finite Difference Methods for Pricing American Options Under Finite Activity Jump-Diffusion Models

Partial-integro differential formulations are often used for pricing American options under jump-diffusion models. A survey on such formulations and numerical methods for them is presented. A detailed description of six efficient methods based on a linear complementarity formulation and finite difference discretizations is given. Numerical experiments compare the performance of these methods for pricing American put options under finite activity jump models.

El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar los factores determinantes del nivel de satisfacción laboral de los asalariados en España, haciendo especial hincapié en las diferencias de género y de nacionalidad. Para ello, se estima un modelo de respuesta múltiple ordenada, utilizando los datos de la Encuesta de Calidad de Vida en el Trabajo, para el período que abarca desde 2006 a 2010. Thermodynamics of a Phase-Driven Proximity Josephson Junction

We study the thermodynamic properties of a superconductor/normal metal/superconductor Josephson junction {in the short limit}. Owing to the proximity effect, such a junction constitutes a thermodynamic system where {phase difference}, supercurrent, temperature and entropy are thermodynamical variables connected by equations of state. These allow conceiving quasi-static processes that we characterize in terms of heat and work exchanged. Finally, we combine such processes to construct a Josephson-based Otto and Stirling cycles. We study the related performance in both engine and refrigerator operating mode.

Vegetation indices are indicators for analyzing the properties of vegetation. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) from optical remote sensing data is one of the most commonly used vegetation indices, which can exhibit the ecological characteristics of leafy materials, but lacks the ability to directly provide information on the woody materials.
