Integrin heterodimers sharing the common alphaV subunit are receptors for adhesion glycoproteins such as vitronectin and fibronectin. They are suggested to play an essential role in cell anchoring, differentiation, and survival. Here, we describe the construction of an expression plasmid coding for an intracellular single-chain antibody against alphaV integrin subunit. Saos-2 osteosarcoma cells transfected with this DNA construct showed an approximately 70-100% decrease in the cell surface expression of alphaVbeta3 and alphaVbeta5 integrins as shown by flow cytometry. Spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) isolated from the adult mouse testis and cultured have been shown to respond to culture conditions and become pluripotent, so called multipotent adult germline stem cells (maGSCs). microRNAs (miRNAs) belonging to the 290 and 302 miRNA clusters have been previously classified as embryonic stem cell (ESC) specific. Cell architecture is largely based on the interaction of cytoskeletal proteins, which include intermediate filaments (IF), microfilaments, microtubules, as well as their type-specific membrane-attachment structures and associated proteins. In order to further our understanding of IF proteins and to address the fundamental issue whether different IF perform unique functions in different tissues, we expressed a desmin transgene in the basal epidermis of mice. Delayed healing of chronic leg ulcers can result from impaired trafficking of bone marrow-derived precursors of keratinocytes to the skin

In this paper, it is hypothesized that in chronic wounds the process of homing of bone marrow-derived precursors of keratinocytes is disturbed, and that the interaction between cutaneous T-cell attracting chemokine (CTACK/CCL27) and soluble P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1) can be the cause of this impairment. Several studies have revealed that bone marrow-derived cells (BMDC) trans-differentiate into various cellular lineages, and probably they participate also in healing of wounded skin. In this study, avarol and derivatives were evaluated in high-throughput keratinocyte culture models using cytokeratin 10 and SKALP/Elafin expression as markers for respectively normal and psoriatic differentiation.
