A novel correction method for a low cost sensorless control system of IPMSM electrical drives

2008

In this paper a novel correction method for sensorless Field Oriented Control System of Brushless internal Permanent Magnet Electrical Drives is introduced discussed and experimentally validated. The novelty of this control system is the estimation of rotor speed and angular position is based on the back electromotive force space vector determination, without the aid of voltage probes. Actual voltage signals needed for estimation are replaced with the reference ones given by the current controller. This choice obviously introduces an error that have been vanished by means of a new compensating function or with the aid of data coming from experimental tests. Experimental verifications of the…

Explicit form of the time operator of a gaussian stationary process

2004

We present the time operator theory in the framework of stationary stochastic processes. The main results of the paper is the derivation of the time operator acting on the Fock space associated with a discrete time gaussian stationary process.

Fatigue Design of Cruciform Joints including V-notch Effect at the Weld Toe

2014

Abstract The present paper proposes a new and more accurate fatigue life prediction model for fillet welded joints in steel subjected to constant amplitude loading. With the traditional fracture mechanics approach, the greatest difficulty when computing the fatigue life of a welded detail is to determine the initial crack size a0. The classical way to determine the stress intensity factor K (SIF) is by using the following formula Where σ is the applied stress, a is the crack size and g(a/T) the geometrical correction factor which has been determined by Gurney function or similar solutions. This approach is not accurate for short crack because of the singular V-notch behaviour close to the c…

Displacement Operator Formalism for Renormalization and Gauge Dependence to All Orders

2005

We present a new method for determining the renormalization of Green functions to all orders in perturbation theory, which we call the displacement operator formalism, or the D-formalism, in short. This formalism exploits the fact that the renormalized Green functions may be calculated by displacing by an infinite amount the renormalized fields and parameters of the theory with respect to the unrenormalized ones. With the help of this formalism, we are able to obtain the precise form of the deformations induced to the Nielsen identities after renormalization, and thus derive the exact dependence of the renormalized Green functions on the renormalized gauge-fixing parameter to all orders. As…

X-ray tomographic method for measuring three-dimensional deformation and water content distribution in swelling clays

2015

A non-invasive method for simultaneous measurement of the 3D displacement field and the water content distribution of a wetted solid material is developed. The method is based on comparison of X-ray tomographic images of a material sample in the reference state and in the wetted and deformed state. The deformation and water content analyses were successfully compared with numerical results for a cylindrical rubber test sample under axial compression, and with gravimetric results from axially wetted and sliced cylindrical bentonite samples, respectively. The methods were applied in a 4D study (three spatial dimensions and time) of wetting and deformation of purified swelling bentonite doped …

Isospin-symmetry breaking in masses of ≃ Nuclei

2018

Effects of the isospin-symmetry breaking (ISB) beyond mean-field Coulomb terms are systematically studied in nuclear masses near the N=Z line. The Coulomb exchange contributions are calculated exactly. We use extended Skyrme energy density functionals (EDFs) with proton–neutron-mixed densities, to which we add new terms breaking the isospin symmetry. Two parameters associated with the new terms are determined by fitting mirror and triplet displacement energies (MDEs and TDEs) of isospin multiplets. The new EDFs reproduce MDEs for the T=12 doublets and T=1 triplets, and TDEs for the T=1 triplets. Relative strengths of the obtained isospin-symmetry-breaking terms are not consistent with the d…

Resource competition between sympatric sibling rotifer species

2001

Mechanisms underlying competitive interactions are important in understanding the structure of planktonic communities, particularly the coexistence of similar species. Here we present experimental results of exploitative competition among three sympatric sibling species of the Brachionus plicatilis complex for two differently-sized species of food microalgae. These three rotifer species are to be found in seasonal succession in brackish ponds on the Spanish Mediterranean coast; they can, however, co-occur for long periods. The functional and numerical responses of the three Brachionus species to both food microalgae, although similar, differed. Neither rotifer population growth nor grazing …

Finite Displacements and Corrotational Interfaces: Consistent formulation and Symmetry of the Stiffness Matrix

2017

Mechanical interfaces are theoretical and computational tools able to properly reproduce then progressive delamination of composite structures. Scientific literature is rich of interface models, mostly developed in small displacements, whereas a few of them assess the problem in a geometrically nonlinear setting. In the present paper interface formulation is rigorously developed in a geometrically nonlinear setting, and the relevant interface constitutive relations are defined in the local reference with normal and tangential axes to the middle surface in the current configuration. The interface is defined as a zero thickness layer with tractions acting between the two connected surfaces. M…

Intermuscular force transmission between human plantarflexor muscles in vivo.

2010

The exact mechanical function of synergist muscles within a human limb in vivo is not well described. Recent studies indicate the existence of a mechanical interaction between muscle actuators that may have functional significance and further play a role for injury mechanisms. The purpose of the present study was to investigate if intermuscular force transmission occurs within and between human plantarflexor muscles in vivo. Seven subjects performed four types of either active contractile tasks or passive joint manipulations: passive knee extension, voluntary isometric plantarflexion, voluntary isometric hallux flexion, passive hallux extension, and selective percutaneous stimulation of th…

El impacto del cambio climático en la movilidad humana : las migraciones climáticas en el contexto internacional y europeo

2021

For decades, the migration phenomenon has been one of the thorniest regulatory issues in the European Union (EU) policy. In addition, today, the fight against climate change in all regions of the world makes the situation worse for the new ?climate refugees? or ?environmental displaced people?, whose legal status is not yet covered by the ancient 1951 Refugee Convention.
