Coupled dark matter-dark energy in light of near Universe observations

2010

Cosmological analysis based on currently available observations are unable to rule out a sizeable coupling among the dark energy and dark matter fluids. We explore a variety of coupled dark matter-dark energy models, which satisfy cosmic microwave background constraints, in light of low redshift and near universe observations. We illustrate the phenomenology of different classes of dark coupling models, paying particular attention in distinguishing between effects that appear only on the expansion history and those that appear in the growth of structure. We find that while a broad class of dark coupling models are effectively models where general relativity (GR) is modified - and thus can b…

Euclid preparation XIX. Impact of magnification on photometric galaxy clustering

2022

Aims. We investigate the importance of lensing magnification for estimates of galaxy clustering and its cross-correlation with shear for the photometric sample of Euclid. Using updated specifications, we study the impact of lensing magnification on the constraints and the shift in the estimation of the best fitting cosmological parameters that we expect if this effect is neglected.

Jahn–Teller effects in Au25(SR)18

2016

The relationship between oxidation state, structure, and magnetism in many molecules is well described by first-order Jahn–Teller distortions. This relationship is not yet well defined for ligated nanoclusters and nanoparticles, especially the nano-technologically relevant gold-thiolate protected metal clusters. Here we interrogate the relationships between structure, magnetism, and oxidation state for the three stable oxidation states, 1, 0 and +1 of the thiolate protected nanocluster Au25(SR)18. We present the single crystal X-ray structures of the previously undetermined charge state Au25(SR)18+1, as well as a higher quality single crystal structure of the neutral compound Au25(SR)180 . …

Pētījumā piedalījās 130 respondenti ( 77 sievietes, 53 vīrieši) vecumā no 20 līdz 50 gadiem. Pētījumā tika izmantotas trīs aptaujas- Kognitīvo izkropļojumu skala (Cognitive Distortions Scale (CDS), Covin, Dozois, Ogniewiez & Seeds, 2011), Kognitīvās kontroles un elastības aptauja (The Cognitive Control & Flexibility Questionnaire; CCFQ; Gabrys, Tabri, Anisman & Matheson, 2018) un Apzinātības kognitīvā un afektīvā aptauja (Cognitive and Afective Mindfulness Scale (CAMS- R), Feldman, Hayes, Kumar, Greeson & Laurenceau, 2006). Hating among adolescents: Common contributions of cognitive distortions and maladaptive personality traits

2019

The phenomenon of hating is becoming common in adolescence, but it has been rarely investigated. The study aimed to examine the relationships between hating behaviors, maladaptive personality traits, and cognitive distortions, and to explore whether cognitive distortions might intervene in the relationship between personality traits and hating. Method: Participants (200 boys and 202 girls) completed the Hating Adolescents Test (HAT), the Personality Inventory for DSM-5-Brief Form-Children (PID-5), and the How I Think Questionnaire (HITQ). Results: Preliminary results showed significant gender differences in the study’s variables: boys reported higher scores than girls on hating and on cogni…

Applying system dynamics modeling to foster a cause-and-effect perspective in dealing with behavioral distortions associated with a city's performanc…

2015

This paper aims to show how applying system dynamics methodology to performance management can provide a powerful modeling perspective enabling public sector organizations to prevent, detect, and counteract behavioral distortions associated with performance measurement. A dynamic performance management approach is able to support performance management system designers in outlining and implementing a consistent set of measures that can allow public sector decision-makers to pursue sustainable organizational learning and development. This perspective implies a major shift from a static to a dynamic picture of organizational processes and results. It means framing delays between causes and ef…

Distortions of [Sb2Cl10]4– Bioctahedra and Phase Transitions in the Chloroantimonate(III) (C3H5NH3)2[SbCl5]·(C3H5NH3)Cl

2007

Bis(allylammonium)pentachloroantimonate(III) - allylammonium chloride, (C3H5NH3)2[SbCl5] · (C3H5NH3)Cl, belongs to the chloroantimonate(III) organic-inorganic salts family. The DSC studies of this compound showed two anomalies at 181 K and at 223 K. Both are associated with phase transitions, which mainly occur due to ordering-disordering processes of the organic cations. Between 181 and 223 K the structure is incommensurate. The crystal structure was determined at 298 and 86 K. At both temperatures the crystal structure consists of (C3H5NH3)+ cations, anionic distorted [Sb2Cl10]4− units and isolated Cl− ions. In the room-temperature phase two out of three, and in the low-temperature phase …

Settore L-FIL-LET/14 - Critica Letteraria E Letterature ComparateBetween late XIX and the first 30 years of the XX Century some Italians immigrated to the United States – such as Bernardino Ciambelli Italo Stanco Garibaldi Marto Lapolla Louis Forgione Michael Fiaschetti and Prosper Buranelli – wrote some texts that starting from the typical features of Mystery (serialization and incardination of the fabula in a specific urban context) together with some of the characteristic elements of the Hard boiled never lose sight of the peculiar 'mission' of political economic and social denunciation. Taking the political and social problems as the primary key of their works these writers want to remove the defamatory role attributed by the public opinion fomented by the press to Italian immigrated community. Their works don’t have the main intent to stage detectives that can solve a case or unmask a culprit but rather they aim to denounce social distortions corruption and injustices suffered by an entire community and not least to indicate the picture of what on the contrary that same society could have been.
