This chapter is about the origin and development of early Stoic epistemology. I discuss how Zeno of Citium, the founder of the Stoa, was influenced by his predecessors and interpreted by his successors. I argue that Stoicism rely on two basic assumptions for which Socrates is the main predecessor, namely that human beings are at home in the world and that it is only by using our rational abilities to detect salient truths and organize them into skills that we can successfully orient ourselves in this world. Divine love is the central theme of many ancient Mesopotamian compositions. Both Sumerian and Akkadian texts poetically describe the love and sexual relationship between gods. The object of this study is to analyze the metaphorical language used to describe divine love relationships, focusing in particular on the use of images from agriculture, pastoralism, and the plant world. Such metaphors contribute to the creation and at the same time to the reinforcement of a sexual imaginary, not only divine but also human. It argues that Jewish writers in this period could attribute «divine functions» to figures beside God, while still feeling committed to «one God». Lejtmotyw miłosierdzia Bożego jest obecny w kulturze muzycznej wszystkich epok, od czasów średniowiecza, gdzie był obecny w śpiewach gregoriańskich, aż po czasy współczesne. Fundamentem śpiewów, powstałych na przestrzeni wieków, były najczęściej teksty biblijne sławiące tajemnicę miłosierdzia Bożego i Bożej łaskawości. Sposób wyrażenia lejtmotywu miłosierdzia Bożego zależał od zespolenia warstwy tekstu ze współczynnikami muzycznego stylu danej epoki, a także od duchowości i oblicza mistyki danej epoki. Objawienia prywatne czy wizje nadprzyrodzone obecne są w życiu Kościoła od zarania. Zazwyczaj wiązały się z życiem mistycznym świętych ludzi i stanowiły poniekąd „uchylenie nieba” na ziemi. Szczególne miejsce wśród wszystkich objawień prywatnych mają tzw. mariofanie czyli objawienia Najświętszej Maryi Panny. Ten fenomen zintensyfikował się w ostatnich dwóch stuleciach, co zdaniem niektórych badaczy może być znakiem czasów ostatecznych. W tych wydarzeniach rewelatywnych Maryja przychodzi na ziemię z przesłaniem miłości i pokoju, których coraz bardziej brakuje w najnowszej historii.
