Freshwater mussels (Unionoida) show great variability in shell morphology which can be associated with differences in habitat, sex and/or parasite infection. Three unionid mussel species, (Anodonta anatina, Unio pictorum and Unio tumidus) were collected from two sites Lake Saravesi, (Laukaa) and Lake Kuivasjarvi, (Oulu), between May - October 2012. Intraspecific trends that were associated with the mussels’ sex and/or parasites infection were studied and observations were made on how sex and parasite infection could have a role in shells morphological characters/patterns. The paper presents the results of three-year studies conducted at 75 locations in Poland testing the use of the London planes for overwintering of true-bugs. Insects were sampled from the bark of trunks. Altogether 25 species of Heteroptera was recorded, including three invasive species that can considerable affect plane trees: Arocatus longiceps, Corythucha ciliata and Oxycarenus lavaterae.

Tämä laadullinen tutkimus selvitti lastentarhanopettajien käyttämiä tukikeinoja päivähoidon aloituksen yhteydessä. Tarkoituksena oli selvittää, mitä tukikeinoja käytetään silloin, kun lapsi aloittaa päivähoidossa. Tällä tarkoitetaan päivähoidossa aloittamista ensimmäistä kertaa tai vaihtamista toiseen päiväkotiin. Lisäksi haluttiin selvittää sosiaalisia tukikeinoja päivähoidon aloituksessa. Tutkimuksen aineiston kerääminen toteutettiin parihaastatteluilla, joissa haastateltiin lastentarhanopettajia. Šajā darbā tiek analizētas Migela de Servatesa romāna Dons Kihots parējmijas un to tulkojumi no spāņu latviešu valodā. Tas sniedza iespēju novērtēt tulkojuma ekvivalenci un salīdzināt divus tulkojumus latviešu valodā, jo tiek uzskatīts ka frazeoloģismu tulkošana ir viena no lielākajām tulkošanas problēmām. Darba teorētiskā daļa balstās uz Seviljas Munjosas (1993, 2002, 2013) un Korpas Pastoras (1996, 2000, 2003) pētnieciskiem darbiem kuri ir veltīti tieši parēmiju klasifikācijai un frazeoloģijas tulkošanai. Alternative measures of body composition and wage premium: New evidence from Indonesia

This paper examines the relationship between body composition and earnings in a developing country setting. We use body mass index, waist circumference and hip circumference. Exploiting the panel structure of our longitudinal survey, we find that along with BMI, waist circumference is related to higher earnings in Indonesia. peerReviewed

Presentamos un caso clínico de neurofibroma plexiforme localizado en región geniana, a nivel submucoso. Su interés radica en que, a pesar de ser el tumor de origen neurógeno más frecuente, es una entidad poco habitual y que rara vez se localiza a nivel intraoral. Por otra parte, la variedad plexiforme es todavía menos frecuente. Desde el punto de vista clínico, se manifiestan como lesiones anodinas, con escasa sintomatología, que cuando aparece es derivada de la compresión nerviosa. Background This study aimed to compare the histological and immunohistochemical characteristics of ameloblastomas (AM) and ameloblastic carcinomas (AC). Material and Methods Fifteen cases of AM and 9 AC were submitted to hematoxilin and eosin (H&E) and immunohistochemical analysis with the following antibodies: cytokeratins 5,7,8,14 and 19, Ki-67, p53, p63 and the cellular adhesion molecules CD138 (Syndecan-1), E-cadherin and β-catenin. The mean score of the expression of Ki-67 and p53 labelling index (LIs) were compared between the groups using the t test. A value of p<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.
