Ordering Garside groups

We introduce a condition on Garside groups that we call Dehornoy structure. An iteration of such a structure leads to a left order on the group. We show conditions for a Garside group to admit a Dehornoy structure, and we apply these criteria to prove that the Artin groups of type A and I2(m), m ≥ 4, have Dehornoy structures. We show that the left orders on the Artin groups of type A obtained from their Dehornoy structures are the Dehornoy orders. In the case of the Artin groups of type I2(m), m ≥ 4, we show that the left orders derived from their Dehornoy structures coincide with the orders obtained from embeddings of the groups into braid groups.

Donnan phenomena in membranes with charge due to ion adsorption. Effects of the interaction between adsorbed charged groups

A physical model for the modified Donnan phenomenon associated with ion adsorption on localized membrane sites is presented. This model accounts for the dependence of the concentration of adsorbed ions on electrolyte concentration and pH as it is influenced by the electrostatic interaction between adsorbed ions. The equilibrium thermodynamic concepts employed are based on the Donnan formalism for the ion equilibria between membrane and solution, and the Bragg–Williams approximation for an adsorption isotherm that incorported interaction between adsorbed ions. Abstract We have studied theoretically the partition equilibrium of a cationic drug between an electrolyte solution and a membrane with pH-dependent fixed charges using an extended Donnan formalism. The aqueous solution within the fixed charge membrane is assumed to be in equilibrium with an external aqueous solution containing six ionic species: the cationic drug (DH + ), the salt cations (Na + and Ca 2+ ), the salt anion (Cl − ), and the hydrogen and hydroxide ions. The anthropological premise to the pedagogical treatment of fairy tales contribution to the formation of sexual and gender identity in girls and boys is the origin of sexual dimorphism that, being present in all cultures, cannot only be the result of socio-cultural conditioning. Considering the mutual cooperation between men and women and the wider family and social harmony, contemporary fairy tales and the appropriate reinterpretations of classic fairy tales have great educational potential for sexual identity development and for overcoming social stereotypes related to sex in girls and boys.
