The article is dedicated to the issue of nineteenth-century inns and alcohol abuse in Silesia of the time. It contains data on the legislative efforts o f the Prussian authorities to solve the problem of alcoholism , and also describes the history o f social sobriety movements inspired by the Catholic Church. Using the historical documentation contained in the court protocols from the Strzelce County, examined was the actual freąuency o f cases in which alkohol played a role. Aims: The aims of this study were to explore time-based trends of socioeconomic differences in alcohol use and drunkenness in Finnish adolescents from 1990 to 2014 and to investigate the significance of two indicators in detecting socioeconomic differences in alcohol use and drunkenness. Methods: Data were retrieved from seven surveys conducted as part of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study in Finland from 1990 to 2014.
