Public employees are bound to comply with specific duties and rules of conduct that broaden their sphere of esponsibility compared to that of ordinary citizens. The ethics of public institutions is crucial for the development and interpretation of the duties and behaviours established by the code of conduct. How Should We Interpret Institutional Duty-Claims?

It is rather natural to suppose that what we mean when we say that an institutional organization has a moral duty is parallel to whatever it is that we mean when we say that an individual has a duty. I challenge this interpretation on the grounds that it assumes that institutional organizations possess those characteristics or abilities requisite for moral agency—an assumption which I argue is highly suspicious. Against such an interpretation, I argue that we have very good reasons to suppose that the term ‘has a duty’ is used equivocally across individual and institutional contexts. W czasie II wojny światowej w niemieckiej niewoli przetrzymywanych było około 20 tys. polskich oficerów. Więzieni byli w pierwszych latach niewoli w kilkunastu, a od końca 1942 r. czterech oflagach: II C Woldenberg (Dobiegniew), VIIA Murnau, II D Gross Born (Borne Sulinowo), VI B Dóssel. Oficerowie zawodowi stanowili około 35% jeńców oflagów. W specyficznych warunkach, w jakich się znaleźli, wyłączeni czasowo z walki, dalej pozostawali żołnierzami. Spoczywał na nich obowiązek walki o wolną Polskę, wydostania się z niewoli i podjęcie walki z okupantem w kraju lub na frontach toczącej się wojny. Parentyfikacja w rodzinie w doświadczeniach młodych dorosłych

Rodzina stanowiąca naturalne środowisko wychowawcze dla młodego pokolenia, nie zawsze prawidłowo wywiązuje się z ról i zadań wychowawczych. Zdarzenia losowe, dysfunkcje powodują, iż role te zostają odwrócone, tj. dzieci przejmują zadania dorosłych. Określa się to terminem parentyfikacja. Celem podjętych badań było poznanie przeżywanych w okresie dzieciństwa doświadczeń związanych z parentyfikacją z perspektywy młodych dorosłych. Zostały one przeprowadzone wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, a wzięło w nich udział 300 osób. Human Duties and Rights in an Intercultural Perspective

This paper reflects on the possibility of opening new ways of revaluing the role of human responsibilities and duties by establishing a relationship with rights that goes further than a simple correspondence between correlative terms. Approaching the interdependence between the language of rights and the language of duties from an intercultural perspective helps achieve an increasingly broader, but necessarily more complex, consensus. This analysis goes back to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which left duties in the background but showed the incipient presence of an intercultural purpose thanks to the work of UNESCO.
