Red-green vs. blue-yellow spatio-temporal contrast sensitivity across the visual field

We measured contrast sensitivity (CS) to sinusoidal spatio-temporal patterns isolating the red-green and blue-yellow mechanisms, at 21 locations in the visual field (including the fovea). These measurements complete the available data for the red-green mechanism at fovea and for both mechanisms outside fovea with non-stationary patterns. Chromatic detection surfaces are low-pass at fovea and CS decreases with eccentricity at a rate that depends on the spatial and temporal frequencies. Modelling Demagnetized Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators using Permeance Network Model with Variable Flux Sources

The partial demagnetization in a four-pole 1.5 kW surface mounted permanent-magnet synchronous-generator was modeled by permeance network model (PNM). The results were compared to a 2-D time-stepping finite element analysis (FEA). Both models where simulated in scenarios where one of the magnets where 20 % and 100 % demagntized and when none of the magnets where demagnetised. The results showed that the proposed PNM with variable magnetic flux sources matched the results of the FEA. The proposed method only need to invers the permeance matrix once before the time simulation, while the traditinal PNM need to invers it in every time step. Ground reaction forces and mechanical power were investigated when the subjects walked normally, while they were racing or running at four speeds, and when they performed the running long jump take-off. Mechanical power and segmental contribution to force impulses in long jump take-off

Changes in total mechanical work, its partitioning into different energy states, mechanical power, force-time characteristics, force impulses of body segments and mass center's pathway characteristics during long jump take-off were investigated on four national and six ordinary level athletes. Both cinematographic and force-platform techniques were used. The data showed that the national level jumpers had higher run-up and higher take-off (release) velocities in horizontal and vertical directions. Bourdieu ha rifuggito una moda intellettuale a lui coeva che spingeva storici politologi giuristi e sociologi a vagliarne cause e ragioni evoluzioni ed epiloghi delle rivoluzioni a discapito però di quanto accade sul fondale: lo scialbo ovattato e ripetitivo ordine delle cose. Bourdieu riteneva che dovesse stupire e meritare di essere spiegato fosse più la permanenza del mutamento l’ovvio più dell’eccentrico l’ordinario più straordinario. Tuttavia nel corso delle lezioni menzionate afferma che per provare nell’ardua impresa di pensare e comprendere lo Stato sia necessario guardare al momento della sua genesi o alle fasi di crisi come durante le rivoluzioni. È infatti in quei momenti che il potere simbolico di cui lo Stato ha il monopolio non è stabile e si presta ad essere osservato come frutto di un processo anziché nella sua ineluttabilità. Le categorie e l’approccio socioepistemico à la Bourdieu vengono adottate dalla Bartoli per leggere il caso dell’insorgenza cilena del 2019 e l’esordio del processo costituente.

Abstract Hamstrings injury is a common occurrence in athletic performance. These injuries tend to occur during a deceleration or landing task suggesting the negative work may be a key component in hamstrings injury. The purpose of this study was to investigate the muscular activity (EMG) of the biceps femoris (BF) in different phases (concentric vs. eccentric) of a Counter Movement Jump (CMJ), Squat Jump (SJ) and the Braking Phase (BP) of a landing task. Responses to eccentric rotation in two space-bound subjects

Two subjects were rotated eccentrically in the manner described previously. In contrast to a normal control group, settings of a luminous line to the subjective vertical were almost unrelated to the gravitoinertial vector before, and totally so shortly after, space flight. Only 3 days postflight did a clear relation to the gravitoinertial vector re-establish itself in the one subject who actually flew. The correspondence became normal 5 days after the flight. Since there were no clinical abnormalities evident in the subjects, it is suggested that both subjects suppressed their vestibular information, presumably as an effect of vestibular deconditioning training before the flight.
