Work Experience Constructed by Polytechnics, Students, and Working Life: Spaces for Connectivity and Transformation

This chapter discusses the role of the connective model of work experience (Griffiths & Guile, 2004; Guile & Griffiths, 2001) in the context of higher education and identifies some of the limits and challenges that may be encountered in seeking to implement connectivity in practice. The question considered here is that of organising placements through cooperation between working life and the polytechnics1 in Finland. The process of introducing connective links appears to be somewhat contradictory but nevertheless negotiable, with plenty of room for improvement. The seven articles in this special issue represent a wide range of international comparative and review studies by international research teams from China, Germany, India, Russia, Switzerland and Mexico. This article examines the acquisition of professional expertise from the educational viewpoint and outlines emerging approaches to research on expertise. Status współczesnego nauczyciela – raport z badań

This paper addresses the issues concerning the professional status of the contemporary teacher. The first part of the article presents both the requirements for those working in the teaching profession and the changes that influence the role of the teacher in the teaching process. The second part of the paper presents the results of the research concerning the professional status of teachers. In most cases, the results were consistent with the results included in the report on the state of education 2013.
