Effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurship intention and related outcomes in educational contexts: a meta-analysis

2021

Abstract Although some meta-analyses have investigated the effect of Entrepreneurship Education (EE), they mixed studies with high and low methodological quality. Thus, their results might overestimate the impact. This paper aims to examine the efficacy of the EE in student samples, attending to studies with a pre-posttest design and a control group. The results showed small effect sizes for EE in increasing Entrepreneurship Intention (EI) and Self-efficacy. Moreover, meta-regression confirmed that the duration of intervention programs predicted larger effect sizes for the EI. Finally, the practical implications of other potential moderator variables are discussed.

2021

Gallo and Sveen, in 1991, specified problems of whether family businesses can take advantage of factors facilitating internationalization. We compare family and non-family businesses in innovation, export, and growth-expectation, and consider how outcomes are aligned, with a coupling that may be loose, with a synergy that benefits the business. This raises a further issue, is governance of a business affecting not only each of the outcomes but also their coupling. A representative sample of 530 Iranian businesses was surveyed in 2018 for Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. Innovation, export, and growth-expectation are found to be lower in family businesses. Coupling between innovation and exp…

Innovation is an important driver of economic growth for it leads to new products and services, enhanced quality, and lower prices. In an increasingly competitive global market, innovation turns out to be essential to secure a viable competitive position. To identify differences between innovative and non‐innovative small and medium enterprises in the service industry, both descriptive and statistical analyses are performed on financial dat…
