Il mio contributo si propone di illustrare un testo esemplare dei rapporti culturali tra la Sicilia e la civiltà islamica. Il testo si intitola Taṯqīf al-lisān wa talqīḥ al-ǧanān di Abū Ḥafṣ ῾Umar Ibn Ḫalaf Ibn Makkī al-Ḥamīrī al-Māzirī al-Ṣiqillī, grammatico e linguista ed è un esempio della lingua araba parlata in Sicilia nel X secolo , quando l'isola era un emirato sotto il dominio islamico. Il Taṯqīf al-lisān, composto da cinquanta capitoli, il trattato elenca gli errori grammaticali commessi dai siciliani sia persone comuni (al-'amma) che dotti (al-muḫaṣṣiṣūn). Abnormal Hypermethylation at Imprinting Control Regions in Patients with S-Adenosylhomocysteine Hydrolase (AHCY) Deficiency

S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase (AHCY) deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disorder in methionine metabolism caused by mutations in the AHCY gene. Main characteristics are psychomotor delay including delayed myelination and myopathy (hypotonia, absent tendon reflexes etc.) from birth, mostly associated with hypermethioninaemia, elevated serum creatine kinase levels and increased genome wide DNA methylation. The technological advances in radiological imaging and the relevance of a diagnostic tool that may reduce radiation-induced long-term effects have led to a widespread use of whole body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI) with diffusion weighted imaging for oncologic patients. Refractive changes in nuclear, cortical and posterior subcapsular cataracts. Effect of the type and grade

Purpose: To determine the effect of main morphological types and grades of age-related cataracts on refractive error. Methods: We measured 276 subjects with optical compensation prior to the development of cataract. We evaluated 224 eyes with nuclear cataract, 125 with cortical cataract, and 103 with posterior subcapsular (PSC) cataract classified with LOCSIII. We measured visual acuity (VA) with their spectacles and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) with chart in decimal scale to obtain the optimal compensation with cataract. The role of novelty detection in food memory

International audience; Memory plays a central role in food choice. Recent studies focusing on food memory in everyday eating and drinking behaviour used a paradigm based on incidental learning of target foods and unexpected memory testing, demanding recognition of the target among distractors, which deviate slightly from the target. Results question the traditional view of memory as reactivation of previous experiences. Exome sequencing in suspected monogenic dyslipidemias.

Background— Exome sequencing is a promising tool for gene mapping in Mendelian disorders. We used this technique in an attempt to identify novel genes underlying monogenic dyslipidemias. PACo: a novel procrustes application to cophylogenetic analysis.

We present Procrustean Approach to Cophylogeny (PACo), a novel statistical tool to test for congruence between phylogenetic trees, or between phylogenetic distance matrices of associated taxa. Unlike previous tests, PACo evaluates the dependence of one phylogeny upon the other. This makes it especially appropriate to test the classical coevolutionary model that assumes that parasites that spend part of their life in or on their hosts track the phylogeny of their hosts.
