Isobaric Vapor−Liquid Equilibria for Binary and Ternary Mixtures of Diisopropyl Ether, 2-Propyl Alcohol, and 3-Methyl-1-Butanol

2008

Consistent vapor−liquid equilibrium data for the binary and ternary systems diisopropyl ether (1) + 2-propyl alcohol (2) + 3-methyl-1-butanol (3) are reported at 101.3 kPa. The diisopropyl ether (1) + 3-methyl-1-butanol (3) system shows positive deviations from ideal behavior, and the 2-propyl alcohol (2) + 3-methyl-1-butanol (3) system exhibits slight deviations from ideal behavior. The activity coefficients and the boiling points were correlated with their compositions by the Wilson, NRTL, UNIQUAC, and Wisniak−Tamir equations. It is shown that these models allow a very good prediction of the phase equilibria of the ternary system using the pertinent parameters of the binary systems. 3-Met…

Phase equilibria in the systems 3-methylpentane + methylcyclohexane, diisopropyl ether + methylcyclohexane and 3-methylpentane + diisopropyl ether + …

2002

Abstract Consistent vapor–liquid equilibria (VLE) at 101.3 kPa has been determined for the ternary system 3-methylpentane+diisopropyl ether (DIPE)+methylcyclohexane and the binary subsystems 3-methylpentane+methylcyclohexane and DIPE+methylcyclohexane in the temperature range from 336 to 374 K. According to the experimental results, the systems exhibit slight positive deviation from ideal behavior and no azeotrope is present. The VLE data have been correlated with the composition using the Wilson, UNIQUAC and NRTL relations. These models allow good prediction of the VLE properties of the ternary system from those of the pertinent binary subsystems.

Vapor–liquid equilibria in the systems 3-methylpentane+methyl 1,1-dimethylethyl ether and 3-methylpentane+methyl 1,1-dimethylpropyl ether at 101.3 kPa

1999

Abstract Pure-component vapor pressure of 3-methylpentane and vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) for the binary systems of 3-methylpentane with methyl 1,1-dimethylethyl ether (MTBE) and with methyl 1,1-dimethylpropyl ether (TAME) at 101.3 kPa have been measured. Both systems exhibit small positive deviations from ideality. They can be described as regular solutions and do not present azeotrope. The activity coefficients and boiling points of the solutions were correlated with its composition by Wilson, UNIQUAC, NRTL, and Wisniak–Tamir equations.

Isobaric Vapor−Liquid Equilibria for Binary and Ternary Mixtures of Dipropyl Ether, 1-Propyl Alcohol, and Butyl Propionate

2006

Consistent vapor−liquid equilibrium (VLE) data at 101.3 kPa have been determined for the ternary system dipropyl ether + 1-propyl alcohol + butyl propionate and two constituent binary systems:  dipropyl ether + butyl propionate and 1-propyl alcohol + butyl propionate. The dipropyl ether + butyl propionate system exhibits ideal behavior, and the 1-propyl alcohol + butyl propionate system shows positive deviations from Raoult's law. No additional azeotropes are present. The activity coefficients of the solutions were correlated with its composition by the Wilson, NRTL, and UNIQUAC models. The ternary system is well-predicted from binary interaction parameters. Butyl propionate breaks the dipr…

Phase Equilibria Involved in Extractive Distillation of Dipropyl Ether + 1-Propyl Alcohol Using N,N-Dimethylformamide as Entrainer

2007

Consistent vapor−liquid equilibrium data for the binary and ternary systems dipropyl ether (1) + 1-propyl alcohol (2) + N,N-dimethylformamide (3) are reported at 101.3 kPa. The results indicate that dipropyl ether (1) + N,N-dimethylformamide (3) system exhibits a positive deviation from ideal behavior and that 1-propyl alcohol (2) + N,N-dimethylformamide (3) system deviates negatively from ideality. The activity coefficients of the solutions were correlated by the Wilson, NRTL, and UNIQUAC models. It is shown that these models allow a very good prediction of the phase equilibrium of the ternary system using the pertinent parameters of the binary systems. In addition, the Wisniak−Tamir relat…

Development of a novel methodology for determination of dialkyl phosphates in human urine using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

2019

Abstract In this study a fast and sensitive method was developed for the quantitative determination of six dialkyl phosphates (DAPs) in human urine using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The proposed methodology was based on liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) with diethyl ether and ethyl acetate using MgSO4 and NaCl, followed by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry detection in the selected reaction mode (SRM) with negative electrospray ionization (ESI-). Detection settings were optimized by design of experiments (DoE). Dibutyl phosphate (DBP) was used as internal standard. Several criteria established in the SANTE/11813/2017 guidance document for pesticide resi…

A meta-analysis of 120 246 individuals identifies 18 new loci for fibrinogen concentration

2015

Genome-wide association studies have previously identified 23 genetic loci associated with circulating fibrinogen concentration. These studies used HapMap imputation and did not examine the X-chromosome. 1000 Genomes imputation provides better coverage of uncommon variants, and includes indels. We conducted a genome-wide association analysis of 34 studies imputed to the 1000 Genomes Project reference panel and including similar to 120 000 participants of European ancestry (95 806 participants with data on the X-chromosome). Approximately 10.7 million single-nucleotide polymorphisms and 1.2 million indels were examined. We identified 41 genome-wide significant fibrinogen loci ; of which, 18 …

Validation of the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) in a sample of Spanish women

2014

Contains fulltext : 124145.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Closed access) The Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) was developed to measure eating styles that may contribute to or attenuate the development of overweight. It comprises three scales that measure emotional, external and restrained eating. The main goal of this study is to evaluate the internal structure of the Spanish version of the DEBQ using updated psychometric techniques in a sample of women. A sample of 647 Spanish females answered the questionnaire. Both exploratory structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis were used to evaluate the factor structure of the DEBQ. Reliabilities were estimated with Cron…

Depression and Violence in Adolescence and Young Adults: Findings From Three Longitudinal Cohorts.

2016

Objective Despite recent research demonstrating associations between violence and depression in adults, links in adolescents are uncertain. This study aims to assess the longitudinal associations between young people’s depression and later violent outcomes. Method We used data from three cohorts with different measurements of depression exposures and subsequent violent outcomes. In a Dutch community cohort Research on Adolescent Development And Relationships (RADAR; N = 623) and a population-based British birth cohort Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC; N = 4,030), we examined the longitudinal links between adolescent depressive symptoms and violent behaviors from age 1…

Genetic and environmental contributions to the inverse association between specific autistic traits and experience seeking in adults

2015

Autistic traits are characterized by social and communication problems, restricted, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests and activities. The relation between autistic traits and personality characteristics is largely unknown. This study focused on the relation between five specific autistic traits measured with the abridged version of the Autism Spectrum Quotient ("social problems," "preference for routine," "attentional switching difficulties," "imagination impairments," "fascination for numbers and patterns") and Experience Seeking (ES) in a general population sample of adults, and subsequently investigated the genetic and environmental etiology between these traits.…
