Niniejszy artykuł stawowi wynik namysłu nad zagadnieniem społecznego ethosu uczonych w kontekście dominacji ujmowania nauki w perspektywie ilościowej. Przedstawione stanowiska dotyczące ról przypisywanych luminarzom nauki są wybraną reprezentacją podejść klasycznych nauki polskiej. Uzupełniają się zarówno w kontekście instytucjonalnym (prof. K. Twardowski), jak i społecznym (prof. F. Znaniecki). Pozostają również w ścisłym związku z uniwersalnym przesłaniem zawartym w rocie ślubowania składanego przez pracowników nauki podczas uroczystości promocji doktorskiej, czyli na progu ich inicjacji akademickiej. W czasie II wojny światowej w niemieckiej niewoli przetrzymywanych było około 20 tys. polskich oficerów. Więzieni byli w pierwszych latach niewoli w kilkunastu, a od końca 1942 r. czterech oflagach: II C Woldenberg (Dobiegniew), VIIA Murnau, II D Gross Born (Borne Sulinowo), VI B Dóssel. Oficerowie zawodowi stanowili około 35% jeńców oflagów. W specyficznych warunkach, w jakich się znaleźli, wyłączeni czasowo z walki, dalej pozostawali żołnierzami. Spoczywał na nich obowiązek walki o wolną Polskę, wydostania się z niewoli i podjęcie walki z okupantem w kraju lub na frontach toczącej się wojny. This article asks about the expansion of psychological, therapeutic and self-enhancement ethos through the networks and devices that configures middle and upper-middle classes, and about the ways in which this process is singled out starting from the encounter between coaching and psychology paradigms with golf fans, in contemporary Argentina. The empirical materials that support the analysis have been ethnographically produced from the interaction with golf players and coaches.

Sienkiewicz’s readers certainly known the writer’s favourite, archaically styled terms folga (“relief”, “respite”, “indulgence”) and folgować (“to follow”, “to allow”, “indulge someone/something”), etymologically derived from the German Folge (“consequence”, “result”, “aftermath”) and folgen (“to follow”, “to obey”, “to submit to”). They are found in Sienkiewicz’s texts more than seventy times, and not only in historical novels, where their use is motivated by the chronotope of the past. If the Catholic Church experiences difficulties in today’s world of ‘hyper-communication’ and 24/7 media pressure, esoteric religious language or generalised misuse of the media may not be the only factors to blame. This paper is based on the hypothesis that the reasons run more deeply into the communications ethos of the Catholic Church itself. More precisely, the paper contends that the Church’s communication in the social sphere cannot totally escape the principle of secrecy. Valsts amatpersonu profesionālā ētosa veidošanās izpēte ir svarīga, jo tādā veidā var izskaidrot valsts sektora pakļautību korupcijas riskam vai imunitāti pret to.
