Ievads: Endovaskulāra aneirismas ārstēšana (EVAR - Endovascular Aneurysm Repair) ir rutīnā izmantota metode abdominālās aortas aneirismas (AAA) ārstēšanā. Pēcimplantācijas sindroms (PIS) ir labdabīga sistēmiska iekaisuma atbilde, ko novēro pēc EVAR un kas bioķīmiski un klīniski izpaužas ar iekaisumu bez infekcijas. Laboratoriskajiem rādītājiem ir loma PIS diagnostikā. Būtiski ir to diferencēt no infekcijas. Šobrīd asinsvadu ķirurgu vidū nav vienprātības par to, kā definēt PIS - febrils drudzis ir nemainīga paradigma, tomēr leikocitozes robežvērtības definīcijās atšķiras, tādējādi ietekmējot incidenci. Ischaemic spinal cord injury (SCI) remains the Achilles heel of open and endovascular descending thoracic and thoracoabdominal repair. Neurological outcomes have improved coincidentially with the introduction of neuroprotective measures. However, SCI (paraplegia and paraparesis) remains the most devastating complication. L'analisi del tessuto urbano della città di Perugia e l'individuazione,attraverso planimetrie e schemi assonometrici, di accadimenti architettonici rilevanti per importanza storico-culturale e per le relazioni intercorrenti tra essi e l'edificio in disuso dell'ex carcere sono state il punto di partenza del percorso progettuale. Si è costituita, così, una trama di percorsi urbani di cui la struttura carceraria diventa nodo all'interno della città, collegamento tra il tessuto storico e l'espansione sottostante.

Open graft repair of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAA) is an incredibly complex and challenging procedure with acceptable results achieved only by a few centers worldwide. Contemporary outcome analysis of TAAA repair performed in the United States showed greater operative mortality and morbidity rates than commonly reported. Moreover, a recent European long-term follow-up study showed that survival remains suboptimal, especially in the early years after TAAA repair. The essay illustrates the ways in which the incorporation of authentic excerpts from Mary Seacole’s autobiography in Bernardine Evaristo’s novel Soul Tourists acquires a significant cultural value within the novel’s representational strategies. The essay also explores the extent to which Seacole — together with her work — can be thought of as a litmus paper in the context of Britain’s self–representation and strategies of identity delineation.
