A graft copolymer of α-elastin with poly(lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) has been synthesized and successfully employed to produce nanoparticles. Exploiting the known biological activity of α-elastin to promote the maintenance of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) contractile phenotype and the antiproliferative effect of glucocorticoids, the aim of this research was to produce drug-loaded nanoparticles suitable for potential treatment of restenosis. Radiofrequency volumetric tissue reduction (RFVTR) of inferior turbinates: a new method in the treatment of chronic nasal obstruction.

Twenty-two Caucasians (16 male and 6 female) with chronic bilateral nasal obstruction due to hypertrophic inferior turbinates were followed up over a three-month period. They were assessed by clinical examination, as active anterior rhinometry, and acoustic rhinometry before and after topical decongestion, preoperatively and three months after surgery. All patients were treated by application of radiofrequency-volumetric-tissue reduction (RFVTR, or somnoplasty) to both inferior turbinates. Initial postoperative edematous response disappeared during the first week after RFVTR. Three months postoperatively 20 of 22 patients (91%) reported subjective improvement of nasal patency. Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after vitreoretinal surgery may potentially be associated with severe complications, such as suprachoroidal hemorrhage. The purpose of the present multicenter clinical trial (NCT02386059) was to assess the efficacy of three different prophylactic treatments for PONV after vitrectomy under local anesthesia. Neurilemoma of the tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa A case report

We report a case of a 61 year old man who had a history of 4 years right leg pain. Clinical and radiological examination and MRI revealed a soft tissue mass in the popliteal fossa. A neurilemoma of the tibial nerve was confirmed after removal of the tumor and histological examination. To our knowledge this is the first case of a neurilemoma located in the tibial nerve reported in the literature.

Non-eosinophilic asthma is characterized by infiltration of neutrophils into the lung and variable responsiveness to glucocorticoids. The pathophysiological mechanisms have not been characterized in detail. Here, we present an experimental asthma model in mice associated with non-eosinophilic airway inflammation and airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR).
