The (de)politicisation of nuclear power: The Finnish discussion after Fukushima

When the Fukushima accident occurred in March 2011, Finland was at the height of a nuclear renaissance, with the Government’s decision-in-principle in 2010 to allow construction of two new nuclear reactors. This article examines the nuclear power debate in Finland after Fukushima. We deploy the concepts of (de)politicisation and hyperpoliticisation in the analysis of articles in the country’s main newspaper. Our analysis indicates that Finnish nuclear exceptionalism manifested in the safety-related depoliticising and the nation’s prosperity-related hyperpoliticisation arguments of the pro-nuclear camp. Se examinan los distintos patrones discursivos y sintácticos en los que dicha construcción aparece, así como su uso como marca de evidencialidad indirecta. El análisis se realiza a partir del Corpus de Español (sección Web/Dialects) y se centra en la variedad europea del español. Molecular clock analyses estimate that crown-group animals began diversifying hundreds of millions of years before the start of the Cambrian period. However, the fossil record has not yielded unequivocal evidence for animals during this interval. Some of the most promising candidates for Precambrian animals occur in the Weng'an biota of South China, including a suite of tubular fossils assigned to Sinocyclocyclicus, Ramitubus, Crassitubus and Quadratitubus, that have been interpreted as soft-bodied eumetazoans comparable to tabulate corals. Abstract Based on a survey administered in 13 prisons in England & Wales and Norway, as part of a research programme with explicitly comparative aims, this article seeks to address both the relative and absolute dimensions of the Nordic penal exceptionalism thesis. It outlines the consistently more positive results in Norway compared to England & Wales, explaining them primarily with reference to the former’s much higher quality and use of open prisons. Dental emergency care in Spain during the state of alarm due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: The first state of alarm due to COVID-19 in Spain led to limit dental treatment exclusively to emergencies. The objective of the survey was to evaluate the amount and type of emergencies attended during this period, as well as to know how they were solved, and what measures were adopted to carry out dental care in these exceptional circumstances. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study included 312 Spanish dentists, who fulfilled an online questionnaire with 22 closed questions, divided into five sections regarding to various aspects of professional dental profile and emergency care. Singular systems in dimension 3: Cuspidal case and tangent elliptic flat case

We study two singular systems in R3. The first one is affine in control and we achieve weighted blowings-up to prove that singular trajectories exist and that they are not locally time optimal. The second one is linear in control. The characteristic vector field in sub-Riemannian geometry is generically singular at isolated points in dimension 3. We define a case with symmetries, which we call flat, and we parametrize the sub-Riemannian sphere. This sphere is subanalytic.

Los estudios sobre la cobertura periodística de las campañas electorales apuntan a una creciente mediatización. Este trabajo busca corroborar si la tendencia también se da en circunstancias excepcionales, como las de las elecciones autonómicas de Cataluña en 2017. La investigación compara los encuadres presentados por seis periódicos (El País, El Mundo, La Vanguardia, El Periódico de Catalunya, Punt Avui y Ara) con los adoptados por los siete partidos políticos representados en el parlamento autonómico (JuntsXCat, ERC, PSC, PP, Ciudadanos, En Comú-Podem y CUP).
