A realistic model of neutrino masses with a large neutrinoless double beta decay rate

The minimal Standard Model extension with the Weinberg operator does accommodate the observed neutrino masses and mixing, but predicts a neutrinoless double beta ($0\nu\beta\beta$) decay rate proportional to the effective electron neutrino mass, which can be then arbitrarily small within present experimental limits. However, in general $0\nu\beta\beta$ decay can have an independent origin and be near its present experimental bound; whereas neutrino masses are generated radiatively, contributing negligibly to $0\nu\beta\beta$ decay. The Hunting of the MR Model

We consider experimental signatures of the standard model's minimal supersymmetric extension with a continuous $U(1)_R$ symmetry (MR model). We focus on the ability of existing and planned electron-positron colliders to probe this model and to distinguish it from both the standard model and the standard model's minimal supersymmetric extension with a discrete $R$-parity.

Flavour-symmetric type-II Dirac neutrino seesaw mechanism

We propose a Standard Model extension with underlying A4 flavour symmetry where small Dirac neutrino masses arise from a Type-II seesaw mechanism. The model predicts the "golden" flavour-dependent bottom-tau mass relation, requires an inverted neutrino mass ordering and non-maximal atmospheric mixing angle. Using the latest neutrino oscillation global fit we derive restrictions on the oscillation parameters, such as a correlation between Dirac CP phase and the lightest neutrino mass.

Dark matter stability from Dirac neutrinos in scotogenic 3-3-1-1 theory

We propose the simplest TeV-scale scotogenic extension of the original 3-3-1 theory, where dark matter stability is linked to the Dirac nature of neutrinos, which results from an unbroken $B-L$ gauge symmetry. The new gauge bosons get masses through the interplay of spontaneous symmetry breaking \`a la Higgs and the Stueckelberg mechanism.

A variational method from the variance of energy

A variational method is studied based on the minimum of energy variance. The method is tested on exactly soluble problems in quantum mechanics, and is shown to be a useful tool whenever the properties of states are more relevant than the eigenvalues. In quantum field theory the method provides a consistent second order extension of the gaussian effective potential.

Proposal for generalised supersymmetry Les Houches Accord for see-saw models and PDG numbering scheme

The SUSY Les Houches Accord (SLHA) 2 extended the first SLHA to include various generalisations of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) as well as its simplest next-to-minimal version. Here, we propose further extensions to it, to include the most general and well-established see-saw descriptions (types I/II/III, inverse, and linear) in both an effective and a simple gauged extension of the MSSM framework. Pseudoscalar decays into lepton pairs from rational approximants

The pseudoscalar decays into lepton pairs P! ‘‘ are analyzed with the machinery of Canterbury approximants, an extension of Pade approximants to bivariate functions. This framework provides an ideal model-independent approach to implement all our knowledge of the pseudoscalar transition form factors driving these decays, can be used for data analysis, and allows to include experimental data and theoretical constraints in an easy way, and determine a systematic error. Search for violation of Lorentz invariance in top quark pair production and decay

Using data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, corresponding to 5.3 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, we search for violation of Lorentz invariance by examining the \ttbar production cross section in lepton+jets final states. We quantify this violation using the standard-model extension framework, which predicts a dependence of the \ttbar production cross section on sidereal time as the orientation of the detector changes with the rotation of the Earth. Within this framework, we measure components of the matrices $(c_Q)_{\mu\nu 33}$ and $(c_U)_{\mu\nu 33}$ containing coefficients used to parametrize violation of Lorentz invariance in the top quark sector.
