Materiały do znajomości ryjkowców (Coleoptera: Curculionoidea) Beskidu Wschodniego

The paper presents new data on the distribution of the superfamily Curculionoidea in the Eastern Beskidy Mountains. The study was carried out between 2003 and 2015 in the south-western part of this region. A list of 134 species of Curculionoidea classified into 7 families (Anthribidae, Attelabidae, Rhynchitidae, Nanophyidae, Apionidae, Curculionidae, Erirhinidae) is presented. Some of them are rare in Poland or have been collected in this region for the first time: Chonostropheus tristis, Aspidapion validum, Barynotus moerens, Dodecastichus inflatus, Otiorhynchus obsidianus, Lixus punctiventris, Tachyerges rufitarsis and Lignyodes suturatus.

New records of flies from the family Ephydridae are presented. PESI - a taxonomic backbone for Europe

Reliable taxonomy underpins communication in all of biology, not least nature conservation and sustainable use of ecosystem resources. The flexibility of taxonomic interpretations, however, presents a serious challenge for end-users of taxonomic concepts. Users need standardised and continuously harmonised taxonomic reference systems, as well as highquality and complete taxonomic data sets, but these are generally lacking for nonspecialists. The solution is in dynamic, expertly curated web-based taxonomic tools. The Laotian Rock Rat Laonastes aenigmamus Jenkins, Kilpatrick, Robinson & Timmins, 2005 was originally discovered in Lao People's Democratic Republic in 2005. This species has been recognized as the sole surviving member of the otherwise extinct rodent family Diatomyidae. Laonastes aenigmamus was initially reported only in limestone forests of Khammouane Province, Central Lao. Approximately 740 species of Heteroptera have been hitherto recorded in Poland, including 705 species of the so called “terrestrial true bugs”. Data on their distribution in our country come mainly from the faunistic and ecological research. However, Heteroptera species faunistic lists often omit locations of specimens used in various kind of molecular studies due to several reasons: (1) such data are not always included in the source paper, (2) the location is given in the description of the nucleotide sequence of the specimen only in the GenBank, (3) the differences between typical faunistic and molecular studies result in inadvertent omission of the latter. Aradus ribauti Wagner, 1956 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Aradidae) gatunek pluskwiaka nowy dla Polski

Till now, the genus Aradus has been represented in Poland by 16 species. Aradus ribauti belongs to the Aradus betulae group and it is the second species from this group found in Poland. This article presents the first three records of Aradus ribauti in our country.

New distributional data concerning 134 species of terrestrial true-bugs in the Bydgoszcz city (N Poland) are presented, including 10 species recorded for the first time from Wiel-kopolsko-Kujawska Lowland, i.e., Aellopus atratus, Deraeocoris flavilinea, Dicyphus annulatus, Drymus ryeii, Emblethis denticollis, E. duplicatus, Ischnocoris angustulus, Pionosomus opacellus, Scolopostethus pilosus, Taphropeltus hamulatus. Taking into account previous literature data, the list of Heteroptera species recorded in the Bydgoszcz city comprises 166 species.
The occurrence of Graphosoma lineatum (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) in Poland

Graphosoma lineatum (Linnaeus, 1758) is a characteristic member of the family Pentatomidae. The species is commonly defined as a rare southern element which has colonized the Polish territory in recent years. The data presented in this study clearly indicates that the species is a regular member of Polish fauna, recorded throughout the country since the beginning of the nineteenth century, including stations located in the northern part of the country.
