Complex plant quality—microbiota–population interactions modulate the response of a specialist herbivore to the defence of its host plant

Many specialist herbivores have evolved strategies to cope with plant defences, with gut microbiota potentially participating to such adaptations. In this study, we assessed whether the history of plant use (population origin) and microbiota may interact with plant defence adaptation. We tested whether microbiota enhance the performance of Melitaea cinxia larvae on their host plant, Plantago lanceolata and increase their ability to cope the defensive compounds, iridoid glycosides (IGs). The study contributes to education research by exploring parents’ perceptions and experiences of encounters with staff from the perspectives of Buber’s (1923/1987; 1947/2002) dialogic philosophy and Giorgi`s (1994) phenomenological psychology. Mikroorganismu darbība ir svarīgs faktors, kurš ietekmē sēklu spēju saglabāt dzīvotspēju augsnē un mikroorganismu izmantošana var palīdzēt kontrolēt nezāļu augsnes sēklu banku videi draudzīgā veidā. Taču sēklām piemīt aizsardzības mehānismi, kas samazina mikroorganismu ietekmi un palīdz sēklām ilgāk saglabāties augsnes sēklu bankā. Chemically defended animals often display conspicuous color patterns that predators learn to associate with their unprofitability and subsequently avoid. Such animals (i.e., aposematic), deter predators by stimulating their visual and chemical sensory channels. Hence, aposematism is considered to be “multimodal.” The evolution of warning signals (and to a lesser degree their accompanying chemical defenses) is fundamentally linked to natural selection by predators. Krimināllikuma 102.pants paredz kriminālatbildību par noziedzīgiem nodarījumiem pret dabas vidi, taču praksē nākas saskarties ar problēmām noziedzīga nodarījuma sastāva kvalifikācijā. Vainīgās personas netiek sauktas pie kriminālatbildības, kā arī nav iespējams pierādīt personas vainu izdarītajā nodarījumā.
