Panorama de la Calidad de Vida Laboral entre Trabajadores que Prestan Cuidados Paliativos en Brasil
2019
Decay pathway determination of even-size dicationic silver clusters: Ag162+ and Ag182+ revisited by pre-precursor selection and sequential decay
2000
Abstract It is demonstrated how by selection of pre-precursor cluster ions Ag 2 n +1 2+ and collision-induced dissociation an ensemble of Ag 2 n 2+ can be produced, which is not contaminated by Ag n + clusters of the same size-to-charge state ratio, n / z . By use of this technique, Ag 16 2+ and Ag 18 2+ precursor ensembles have been prepared for further investigations. They are observed to decay by neutral monomer evaporation, Ag 2 n 2+ →Ag 2 n −1 2+ +Ag, and trimer fission, Ag 2 n 2+ →Ag 2 n −3 + +Ag 3 + , and show no sign of symmetric fission.
Theoretical Determination of the Singlet → Singlet and Singlet → Triplet Electronic Spectra, Lowest Ionization Potentials, and Electron Affinity of C…
2003
The singlet → singlet and singlet → triplet electronic spectra of cycloocta-1,3,5,7-tetraene are studied using multiconfigurational second-order perturbation theory (CASPT2) and extended atomic natural orbitals (ANOs) basis sets. The observed dipole-allowed features at 4.43, 6.02, and 6.42 eV and the spin-forbidden singlet → triplet bands with maxima at 3.05, 4.05, and 4.84 eV (Frueholz, R. P.; Kuppermann, A. J. Chem. Phys. 1978, 69, 3614) are assigned as the transitions 1 1 A 1 → 1 1 A 2 , 1 1 A 1 → 2 1 B 2 (3p z ), 1 1 A 1 → 3 1 E, and 1 1 A 1 - 1 3 A 2 , 1 1 A 1 → 1 3 E, 1 1 A 1 → 1 3 B 1 , respectively. The lowest (3s) Rydberg singlet and triplet states are placed at 5.58 (2 1 A 1 ) and…
Liquid-Phase Chemistry of Superheavy Elements
2013
An overview over the chemical separation and characterization experiments of the four transactinide elements so far studied in liquid phases, rutherfordium (Rf), dubnium (Db), seaborgium (Sg), and hassium (Hs), is presented. Results are discussed in view of the position of these elements in the Periodic Table and of their relation to theoretical predictions. Short introductions on experimental techniques in liquid-phase chemistry, specifically automated rapid chemical separation systems, are also given. Studies of nuclear properties of transactinide nuclei by chemical isolation will be mentioned. Some perspectives for further liquid-phase chemistry on heavier elements are briefly discussed.
PD‐1‐induced T cell exhaustion is controlled by a Drp1‐dependent mechanism
2022
Programmed cell death‐1 (PD‐1) signaling downregulates the T‐cell response, promoting an exhausted state in tumor‐infiltrating T cells, through mostly unveiled molecular mechanisms. Dynamin‐related protein‐1 (Drp1)‐dependent mitochondrial fission plays a crucial role in sustaining T‐cell motility, proliferation, survival, and glycolytic engagement. Interestingly, such processes are exactly those inhibited by PD‐1 in tumor‐infiltrating T cells. Here, we show that PD‐1pos CD8+ T cells infiltrating an MC38 (murine adenocarcinoma)‐derived murine tumor mass have a downregulated Drp1 activity and more elongated mitochondria compared with PD‐1neg counterparts. Also, PD‐1pos lymphocytic elements in…
Virtue: A Necessary Component of Ethical Administration Virtud: componente necesario para la gestión ética Virtude: componente necessário da gestão é…
2011
The objective is to offer a theoretical model to help conceptualize ethics and to clarify the characteristics and constraints of the different ethical theories. An integral ethical approach must include three dimensions: norms, good and virtue. It is argued that each of these dimensions stems from a comprehensive anthropology that deals with understanding human action. The article describes the principal aspects in terms of the pursuit of objectives, principles to be followed and virtues to be acquired. It concludes with a description of an experience in the application of this framework at two different universities in Spain: a Catholic inspired institution and a state university.El objeti…

Electron Transfer from the Singlet and Triplet Excited States of Ru(dcbpy)2(NCS)2into Nanocrystalline TiO2Thin Films
2002
Time-resolved absorption spectroscopy was used to study the femtosecond and picosecond time scale electron injection from the excited singlet and triplet states of Ru(dcbpY)(2)(NCS)(2) (RuN3) into titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanocrystalline particle film in acetonitrile. The fastest resolved time constant of similar to30 fs was shown to reflect a sum of two parallel ultrafast processes, nonergodic electron transfer (ET) from the initially excited singlet state of RuN3 to the conduction band of TiO2 and intersystem crossing (ISC). The branching ratio of 1.5 between the two competing processes gives rate constants of 1/50 fs(-1) for ET and 1/75 fs(-1) for ISC. Following the ultrafast processes, a…
Towards saturation of the electron-capture delayed fission probability: The new isotopes $^{240}Es$ and $^{236}Bk$
2016
Abstract The new neutron-deficient nuclei 240 Es and 236 Bk were synthesised at the gas-filled recoil separator RITU. They were identified by their radioactive decay chains starting from 240 Es produced in the fusion–evaporation reaction 209 Bi( 34 S,3n) 240 Es. Half-lives of 6 ( 2 ) s and 22 − 6 + 13 s were obtained for 240 Es and 236 Bk, respectively. Two groups of α particles with energies E α = 8.19 ( 3 ) MeV and 8.09 ( 3 ) MeV were unambiguously assigned to 240 Es. Electron-capture delayed fission branches with probabilities of 0.16 ( 6 ) and 0.04 ( 2 ) were measured for 240 Es and 236 Bk, respectively. These new data show a continuation of the exponential increase of ECDF probabilitie…
Experimental study of the quasifission, fusion-fission, and de-excitation of Cf compound nuclei
2015
Background: The fusion-evaporation reaction at energies around the Coulomb barrier is presently the only way to produce the heaviest elements. However, formation of evaporation residues is strongly hindered due to the competing fusion-fission and quasifission processes. Presently, a full understanding of these processes and their relationships has not been reached.Purpose: This work aims to use new fission measurements and existing evaporation residue and fission excitation function data for reactions forming Cf isotopes to investigate the dependence of the quasifission probability and characteristics on the identities of the two colliding nuclei in heavy element formation reactions.Method:…
