The French National Soil Quality Monitoring Network (RMQS) has a significant impact in removing the grey areas through its programs on soil microorganisms, soil meso and macrofauna, meadow flora, truffles and more recently enzymatic activities. The first distribution maps of bacterial phyla on a national scale and of soil fauna on a regional scale (in Brittany) have been developed. ‘Sobrasada’ is a raw-cured product typical of Mallorca (Balearic Islands). Throughout its ripening process the product, like other raw-cured sausages, undergoes a series of chemical and microbial changes which lead to the formation of its desirable final characteristics. In the ‘sobrasada’ studied, the breeds, feeding and casings used in the Balearic Islands were employed. The evolution of different groups of microorganisms was followed: mesophylic aerobic microorganisms, lactic acid bacteria, Enterobacteriaceae, yeasts and moulds, group D Streptococcus, proteolytic microorganisms and lipolytic microorganisms. Salinity is one of the most widespread soil degradation processes. In fact in saline soils uneven temporal and spatial water distribution and localized high concentration of salts occur, characterizing restricted habitats where most of the present organisms are halophilic or salt tolerant. Soils could be classified hypersaline when salt concentration exceeds certain thresholds (1, 2). For this study were analysed 10 hypersaline soil localities from Sicily (Birgi, Isola Lunga, Salinelle Marsala, Capo Feto, Piana del Signore, Vendicari) and Tunisia (Qurba, Khniss, Ras Dimas, Chebba). The gut microbiota influence host vascular physiology locally in the intestine, but also evoke remote effects that impact distant organ functions. Amongst others, the microbiota affect intestinal vascular remodeling, lymphatic development, cardiac output and vascular function, myelopoiesis, prothrombotic platelet function, and immunovigilance of the host. The mutualistic gut microbiota does not only impact the development and function of various immune cell types, but it also influences the function of the hepatic vascular endothelium and prothrombotic platelet function.
