Modeling of the N-terminal Section and the Lumenal Loop of Trimeric Light Harvesting Complex II (LHCII) by Using EPR

The major light harvesting complex II (LHCII) of green plants plays a key role in the absorption of sunlight, the regulation of photosynthesis, and in preventing photodamage by excess light. The latter two functions are thought to involve the lumenal loop and the N-terminal domain. Their structure and mobility in an aqueous environment are only partially known. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) has been used to measure the structure of these hydrophilic protein domains in detergent-solubilized LHCII. AbstractThe accuracy of students’ relative comprehension judgments when reading texts is typically rather low. This has been ascribed to students grounding their comprehension judgments on cues that are not diagnostic of their actual comprehension level. Author's Final draft The crystal structures and molecular conformations of two foldamer-type oligoamides were analyzed. One polymorphic form and seven solvates were found for N¹,N³-bis(2-benzamidophenyl)benzene-1,3-dicarboxamide (the benzene variant), and two polymorphic forms and six solvates for N²,N⁶-bis(2-benzamidophenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (the pyridine variant). Three crystal structures of the benzene variant and seven structures of the pyridine variant were solved using single crystal X-ray diffraction. Suomalaisen viittomakielen pro gradu –työssäni tarkastelen kuuron oppilaan viittomakielistä opetusta vuorovaikutuksen näkökulmasta. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu kahdesta matematiikan yksilöopetustunnista. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on ollut selvittää, millaisia muotoja ohjaava opetuskeskustelu saa kuuron oppilaan suomalaisella viittomakielellä toteutetussa opetuksessa. The aim of this dissertation was explore the beliefs and practices of pre-service primary teachers on using simulations as a part of guided inquiry-based lessons. Even though research has shown that using simulations to learn science offers certain learning benefits compared to other forms of instruction, their use in Finnish schools is still rare compared to the international average.
