Aims The aim of this study was to determine whether the Joint European Societies guidelines on secondary cardiovascular prevention are followed in everyday practice. Design A cross-sectional ESC-EORP survey (EUROASPIRE V) at 131 centres in 81 regions in 27 countries. Methods Patients (<80 years old) with verified coronary artery events or interventions were interviewed and examined ≥6 months later. Results A total of 8261 patients (females 26%) were interviewed. Appropriate pain care should be regarded as a right and effectively guaranteed to people with chronic pain (CP). Law 38, enacted in Italy in 2010, establishes the citizen’s right not to suffer. Twelve years later, such right appears still disregarded in Italy and the current access to adequate pain care reveals significant shortcomings. In addition, a mismatch between CP-associated burden and the available healthcare resources in the framework of our national health system has been observed. Diazotization of the 3-aminopyrrole-4-carboxamides 6a,b under different conditions directly led to the new ring system pyrrolo[3,4-d]-1,2,3-triazine in excellent yields through an intramolecular coupling reaction. In all the cases it was impossible to isolate the intermediate 3-diazopyrroles.

The intramolecular Povarov (IMP) reactions involved in the synthesis of 5H-chromeno[2,3-c] acridine derivatives [Tetrahedron Lett., 2010, 51, 3071–3074] have been studied using density functional theory (DFT) methods. The studied IMP reaction is a domino process that comprises two consecutive reactions: (i) a BF3 Lewis acid catalysed intramolecular aza-Diels–Alder (IMADA) reaction of an alkene tethered chromene imine (ATCI) giving a formal [4 + 2] cycloadduct, and (ii) a 1,3-hydrogen shift yielding the final chromeno product. Abstract A new Pd(II) complex, [Pd(Triaz)Cl], with the hydrazono-s-triazine ligand, 2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-((2-(4-morpholino-6-(phenylamino)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)hydrazono)methyl)phenol (HTriaz), was synthesized by the reaction of PdCl2 with the organic ligand (1:1) in acetone under isothermal conditions. The molecular structure of the [Pd(Triaz)Cl] complex was determined using FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopic techniques, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Moreover, using Hirshfeld surface analysis, the percentages of the intermolecular interactions were determined. The use of MoV reagents, and in particular MoCl5, in organic synthesis is surveyed. The oxidative treatment of aromatic substrates is the most common application. The unique properties of these reagents are due to their high oxidative power combined with exquisite Lewis acid properties. In several examples MoV reagents outperform other common oxidative coupling reagents. C–C bond formation through inter- and intramolecular oxidative coupling can lead to selective formation of five- to eight-membered ring systems. Concerted Halogen-Bonded Networks with N-Alkyl Ammonium Resorcinarene Bromides: From Dimeric Dumbbell to Capsular Architectures

N-Alkyl ammonium resorcinarene bromides and 1,4-diiodooctafluorobutane via multiple intermolecular halogen bonds (XB) form different exotic supramolecular architectures through subtle changes of the upper rim substituents. Dimeric dumbbell-like assembly with encapsulated guest molecules is generated with N-benzyl substituents. The N-hexyl groups engender an XB-induced polymeric pseudocapsule and an XB-induced dimeric capsule with entrapped 1,4-dioxane guest molecules. The N-propyl and N-cyclohexyl groups generate deep cavity cavitands.
