Marine protected areas (MPAs) are considered viable fisheries management tools due to their potential benefits of adult spillover and recruitment subsidy to nearby fisheries. However, before–after control–impact studies that explore the biological and fishery effects of MPAs to surrounding fisheries are scarce. We present results from a fine-scale spatial gradient study conducted before and after the implementation of a 5 km 2 lobster MPA in southern Norway. This article proposes a study of the traditions in defensive architecture that concurred in the projects designed by Spanish military engineers for the fortification of the Valencian frontier in 1648 and 1649, in the context of the War of Catalonia (1640-1652). For this it is essential to follow the route of the Valencian adaptations to the military revolution in the matter of fortifications throughout the sixteenth century and compare them with those brought to Valencia in 1641 by the Marquis of Leganes and his engineers from the school of Milan.

Metālisko elementu saturs augsnē Liepājas Ziemeļu fortu teritorijā. Butkus D., darba vadītāja Mg. chem., lektore Balcerbule Z. Bakalaura darbs, 45 lappuses, 21 attēls, 18 tabulas, 32 literatūras avoti, 4 pielikumi. Latviešu valodā. Darbā ir veikta metālisko elementu analīze Ziemeļu fortu teritorijā ņemtajos augsnes paraugos. Augsnes izvilkumi gatavoti HNO3 šķīdumos, veikta arī mineralizācija ar mikroviļņu enerģiju. Elementu koncentrācijas tika noteiktas ar liesmas atomabsorbciometrijas un ICP – MS metodēm. Iegūtie rezultāti tika salīdzināti ar LR MK augsnes un grunts kvalitātes normatīviem un literatūrā pieejamiem datiem.
