Laika apzīmējumi Homēra Odisejas valodā

Bakalaura darba “Laika apzīmējumi Homēra Odisejas valodā” mērķis ir izpētīt laika apzīmējumu formu un funkcionējumu Homēra Odisejas valodā. Lai sasniegtu izvirzīto mērķi, bakalaura darba teorētiskajā daļā apskatīti gan mūsdienu zinātnieku pētījumu materiāli par Homēra eposu Odiseja, gan Aristoteļa teorētiskās atziņas par episko stilu. Apskatīta arī teorētiskā literatūra par vārda semantiku. Darba gaitā tika pētīta laika apzīmējumu nozīme eposa kontekstā. Pētījuma procesā atklāts, ka laika apzīmējumi palīdz saprast laiktelpu, kurā notiek darbība. Tāpat tie padara tekstu izteiksmīgu, jo atrodami arī, piemēram, metaforiski un formulveida laika apzīmējumi, un arī tādi, kas dažādos veidos apraks…
Spēles naratīva analīze: “Half Life” franšīze

Pētījuma galvenais mērķis ir atklāt, kā stāstījumu tehnikas pielietotas video spēļu franšīzē Half-Life. Pētījumam izvēlētas četras franšīzes Half-Life un Half-Life 2 spēles. Teorētiskajā daļā tika apskatīts, kā stāstījumu jēdzieni ir pielāgojami video spēļu pētījumam. Izvēlēto video spēļu analīze parādīja, ka stāstījumu izteiksmes līdzekļi un struktūras var tikt pielietotas arī izvēlētajām video spēlēm, dažām no tām stingri neievērojot avotu teorētiskos ierobežojumus. Pētījuma rezultāti nodrošina plašāku video spēļu stāstījumu izpētes iespējas.
Quantum Motion of Chemisorbed Hydrogen on Ni Surfaces

Quantum mechanical energy levels and wave functions have been calculated for the motion of chemisorbed hydrogen atoms on Ni surfaces. The results show considerable quantum effects for the adatom in both the ground and the excited states. The description of the adparticles as being delocalized along the surface offers a novel interpretation of several phenomena, in particular the vibrational excitations. Peer reviewed

Today, several pharmaceutic and non-pharmaceutic approaches exist to treat psychiatric and neurological diseases. Because of the lack of treatment procedures that are medication free and without severe side effects, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and aerobic exercise (AE) have been tested to explore the potential for initiating and modulating neuroplasticity in the human brain. Both tDCS and AE could support cognition and behavior in the clinical and non-clinical context to improve the recovery process within neurological or psychiatric conditions or to increase performance. In the paper we investigate a model for computing of Boolean functions - Ordered Binary Decision Diagrams (OBDDs), which is a restricted version of Branching Programs. We present several results on the comparative complexity for several variants of OBDD models. - We present some results on the comparative complexity of classical and quantum OBDDs. We consider a partial function depending on a parameter k such that for any k > 0 this function is computed by an exact quantum OBDD of width 2, but any classical OBDD (deterministic or stable bounded-error probabilistic) needs width 2 k+1. - We consider quantum and classical nondeterminism. Akomodācijas un verģences sistēmas darbības traucējumu izplatība Azerbaidžānā

Maģistra darb ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 35 lpp. Tas satur 19 tabulas, 2 pielikumus un 16 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izvērtēt akomodācijas un verģences traucējumu izplatību un veidus Azerbaidžānas galvaspilsētas baku studentu vidū. Pētījumā piedalījās 192 dalībnieki (15-36 g.v.). Visiem tika veikta bezmaksas redzes pārbaude, kur detalizēti tika izvērtēta refrakcija, akomodācija un verģence. Rezultāti parāda, ka 51 ± 4 % dalībniekiem novēro dažāda veida akomodācijas un verģences darbības traucējumus vai to kombinācijas. AbstractIn this paper, we study the second-order Sobolev regularity of solutions to the parabolic p-Laplace equation. For any p-parabolic function u, we show that $$D(\left| Du\right| ^{\frac{p-2+s}{2}}Du)$$ D ( D u p - 2 + s 2 D u ) exists as a function and belongs to $$L^{2}_{\text {loc}}$$ L loc 2 with $$s>-1$$ s > - 1 and $$1<p<\infty $$ 1 < p < ∞ . Abstract Starting from consideration that urban intersections are sites with promise for safety and operational improvements, the paper describes the steps taken to develop a crash predictive model for estimating the safety performance of urban unsignalized intersections located in Palermo, Italy. The focus is on unsignalized four-legged one-way intersections widespread in Italian downtowns. The sample considered in the study consist of 92 intersections in Palermo, Italy.
