Disturbances in energy metabolism of Daphnia magna after exposure to tebuconazole.

Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the change of some biochemical parameters in the aquatic invertebrate Daphnia magna following exposure to the fungicide tebuconazole and to determine the most sensitive biomarker among the ones tested in this species. Four biochemical biomarkers (protein, glycogen, lipids and caloric content) were correlated with feeding behaviour studies of D. magna after fungicide exposure. Juveniles of D. magna were exposed to four sublethal concentrations of tebuconazole (0.41, 0.52, 0.71 and 1.14 mg L−1) for 5 d. Cyprodinil is an anilinopyrimidine fungicide applied worldwide for the prevention and treatment of highly destructive plant diseases in a large variety of crops, including cereals, fruits, and vegetables. This paper describes the development of the first reported immunoassays for cyprodinil. Two original haptens have been synthesized and conjugated to different carrier proteins, and polyclonal antibodies have been produced. AbstractCircular leaf spot (CLS), caused byPlurivorosphaerella nawae, is a serious disease of persimmon (Diospyros kaki) inducing necrotic lesions on leaves, defoliation and fruit drop. Under Mediter-ranean conditions,P. nawaeforms pseudothecia in the leaf litter during winter and ascospores are released in spring infecting susceptible leaves. The efficacy of hexaflumuron, a benzophenylurea insecticide, has been studied for the first time on a fungus-growing termite (Pseudacanthotermes spiniger Sjostedt, Macrotermitinae). Results show that hexaflumuron could be useful in treating infestations of such pest species, which are of great economic importance in many tropical and equatorial countries. Foraging workers harvested and introduced treated food into the nest and subsequently contaminated the brood by trophallaxis. Hexaflumuron showed potent larvicidal activity. An epidemiological investigation was conducted over 2 years in hospital buildings in Dijon and Nancy (France) and in non-hospital buildings in Dijon.
