Tutkimuksen lähtökohtana oli Zoltán Dörnyein uusi motivaatioteoria, joka koostuu oppijoiden tulevaisuuden minäkuvista sekä aiemmista kokemuksista kohdekieleen liittyen. Kyseistä teoriaa ei ole vielä laajalti käytetty tutkimuksessa, ja suomalaiset kieltenoppijat ovat vielä varsin uusi kohderyhmä kyseiselle teorialle. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää nuorten urheilijoiden suhtautumista englantiin ja sen tärkeyteen. This study explores current trends in representing and communicating climate change by media industries. It reviews the current literature on mainstream media narratives of climate change focusing on their naturalization of progress and their techno-optimism (e.g., as regards geoengineering). It provides insight on how the media industry’s commercial agenda is linked to the types of disseminated messages and dominant imaginaries. Theory of storage implications in the European natural gas market

The theory of storage stands that futures prices should be equal to the spot price plus the interest forgone in storing the commodity and the warehousing costs minus the convenience yield on the inventory. In this paper, we test several implications of the theory of storage on the pricing of United Kingdom natural gas futures. We obtain partial evidence for the theory of storage as a complete explanation of the pricing of this futures contract. The Future Circular Collider (FCC) Study is aimed at assessing the physics potential and the technical feasibility of a new collider with centre-of-mass energies, in the hadron-hadron collision mode, seven times larger than the nominal LHC energies. Operating such machine with heavy ions is an option that is being considered in the accelerator design studies. It would provide, for example, Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN} = 39 and 63 TeV, respectively, per nucleon-nucleon collision, with integrated luminosities above 30 nb^-1 per month for Pb-Pb. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten myöhäiskeski-iän elämänasenteet ja -odotukset ovat yhteydessä fyysiseen toimintakykyyn myöhemmällä iällä. Lisäksi tarkasteltiin, ovatko elämänasenteet ja -odotukset yhteydessä fyysiseen toimintakykyyn vielä silloinkin, kun otetaan huomioon muut tunnetut toimintakyvyn riskitekijät, kuten ikä, sukupuoli, sosioekonominen asema ja koettu terveys. Tutkielman aineistona käytettiin Helsingin syntymäkohorttitutkimuksen (The Helsinki Birth Cohort Study) aineistoa vuosilta 2001–2011. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai studentu orientācija uz nākotni un pretenziju līmenis ir saistīti ar akadēmiskajiem sasniegumiem (un līdz ar to var kalpot par sasniegumus prognozējošiem faktoriem), un vai tie ir saistīti savā starpā. Pētījumā piedalījās 65 Latvijas Jūras Akadēmijas studenti vecumā no 18 līdz 28 gadiem (M=20,4 gadi, SD=1,7 gadi).
