La escuela o el vacío completo

2020

Analysis of mobile applications aimed at early childhood: technical, pedagogical, design and content characteristics

2021

This article analyzes the technical, pedagogical, design and content characteristics of a sample of applications for children up to 5 years old, available on the Google Play platform. The study is part of an investigation titled: «Los materiales didácticos digitales en la Educación Infantil. Análisis y propuestas para su uso en la escuela y el hogar» (RTI2018-093397-B-I00) in which research teams belonging to three Autonomous Communities of the Spanish State (Islas Canarias, Galicia and Valencia) participate. The methodology used was based on content analysis. The 23 most popular apps on Google Play in June 2020 are analyzed. Three of them are the most downloaded in Spanish homes during the…

Digital holographic microscopy as a screening technology for diabetes

2019

Label-free quantitative phase imaging (QPI) is the hallmark of digital holographic microscopy (DHM). One of the most interesting medical applications of QPI-DHM is that it can be used to analyze illnesses in which the refractive index or/and the morphology of cells/tissues are distorted, from the acquisition of a single image. In this contribution, we obtain the phase maps of red blood cells (RBCs) samples of patients suffering from diabetes mellitus type 1 (DM1) by using a DHM. Our experimental results show that the measured phase values are significantly different between control non-diabetic and diabetic patients. The high correlation coefficient between the phase and the glycated hemogl…

PENDEKATAN ANALISIS REGRESI INDIVIDUAL UNTUK DATA LONGITUDINAL

2008

Classical Regression analysis are usually used in analysing longitude data or repeated measurement data (where response from each individual were measured in a period of time). Assumption of the analysis is no correlation among a couple measurement at same object. Whereas the repeated measurement data in same object research usually have correlation. Neglecting of correlation in regresion analysis will result in an uncertain conclusion.Regression individually analysis for longitudinal data attention the influence of individual effect and its interaction with time. So that with the reason, withdrawal of conclusion will be more be trusted its truth. The research objective i…

Urban Development and Cultural Policy “White Elephants”: Barcelona and Valencia

2015

AbstractThe importance of culture in defining new models of local development has been increasingly emphasized. However, less attention has been paid to the influence of local development models on local cultural policy. This article will focus on analysing two cities that have used culture as a central element in their economic and urban development. In both cases, they have followed different strategies but the two have finally finished generating two “white elephants”: the Universal Forum of Cultures in the case of Barcelona and the City of Arts and Sciences in the case of Valencia. From a comparison of the two cases, the paper analyses the causes of this urban phenomenon, which combines…

Potential demand and cost-benefit analysis of electric cars

2004

In this study an analysis of electric family car performances is carried out. In particular, the aim of this research is to appraise the possibility of introducing electric cars in urban mobility and the evaluation of its economic feasibility. First of all, we determined the potential electric car demand, which was forecasted using a stated preference (SP) analysis. The survey was carried out at the University of Palermo considering a particular target of consumer: ‘the hybrid household’. A logit demand model was calibrated using the SP technique to model the choice between the electric car and the conventional one. In the second part of the work, the economic feasibility of the electric ca…

Multicomponent Exercise Training Combined with Nutritional Counselling Improves Physical Function, Biochemical and Anthropometric Profiles in Obese C…

2020

Aerobics or strength exercise plus diet interventions have been shown to counteract childhood obesity. However, little is known with regard to periodized multicomponent exercise interventions combined with nutritional counselling, which might be less demanding but more enjoyable and respectful of children and adolescents&rsquo

Nurse‐led counseling for coronary artery disease patients: A 1‐year follow‐up study

2021

Nurse-led counseling and systematic follow-up has been shown to reduce cardiovascular risk factor levels. The study aim was to investigate if cardiovascular risk factor levels could be reduced in patients with coronary artery disease with a nurse-led intervention and to report patients’ evaluations of nurse-led counseling. The study design was a real-life longitudinal follow-up counseling intervention. Data were collected from November 2017 to May 2020. The nurse-led intervention and patients’ follow-up time was one year. Of the 78 patients recruited, 74 completed the study. The most significant findings were in the levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and trigly…

Interference-assisted detection of dark photon using atomic transitions

2019

Dark photon is a massive vector particle which couples to the physical photon through the kinetic mixing term. Such particles, if exist, are produced in photon beams and, in particular, in laser radiation. Due to the oscillations between the physical photon and the dark photon, the latter may be, in principle, detected in the light-shining-through-a-wall experiment. We propose a variant of this experiment where the detection of dark photons is based on the atomic transitions. The key feature of this scheme is that the detection probability is first order in the coupling constant due to the interference term in the photon and dark photon absorption amplitudes. We expect that such experiment …
