El ictus es una de las primeras causas de muerte, discapacidad permanente y demencia en el mundo. Del total de ictus, el 85% son de tipo isquémico y el 15% restante son de tipo hemorrágico. Aparte de la prevención, el único tratamiento establecido para el ictus isquémico agudo consiste en disolver farmacológicamente el trombo que ocluye la arteria o retirarlo mecánicamente. La neuroprotección no ha conseguido salvar la brecha entre el laboratorio y la clínica, es por esto que la protección farmacológica del cerebro y la recuperación funcional, a través de la plasticidad neuronal inducida y la reparación, siguen siendo los objetivos centrales de la investigación en ictus. [EN] Candida auris has arisen as an important multidrug-resistant fungus because of several nosocomial outbreaks and elevated rates of mortality. Accurate and rapid diagnosis of C. auris is highly desired; nevertheless, current methods often present severe limitations and produce misidentification. Herein a sensitive, selective, and time-competitive biosensor based on oligonucleotide-gated nanomaterials for effective detection of C. auris is presented.
