This study analyses posts and comments on a popular social network (Facebook) in order to investigate how web-users take advantage of participative platforms to post ideologically-driven comments, and how the exchanges create echo chambers. In particular, the study addresses populism expressed in online debates concerning migrants and used as a pretext to show group identities and ideologies. A Universal Health Care System? Unmet Need for Medical Care Among Regular and Irregular Immigrants in Italy

Italy has a universal health care system that covers, in principle, the whole resident population, irrespective of citizenship and legal status. This study calculates the prevalence of unmet need for medical care among Italian citizens, regular and irregular immigrants and estimates logistic regression models to assess whether differences by citizenship and legal status hold true once adjusting for potential confounders. Bakalaura darbs "Latviešu imigranti Somijā" ir par imigrantiem Somijā, kas nākuši no Latvija, kurus oficiālajos statistikas datos var identificēt pēc sekojošajiem parametriem: Latvijas pilsonība, Latvija kā dzimšanas vieta vai latviešu valoda kā dzimtā valoda. Šo imigrantu izpētei tika izmantota kvantitatīvā datu iegūšanas un apstrādes metode, un tika lietoti gan primārie dati, kas šajā bakalaura darbā tika iegūti ar interneta aptaujas anketas palīdzību, gan sekundāri dati, kas tika iegūti no Tilastokeskus (Somijas statistikas pārvalde). Both, autochthonous and imported cases of urogenital schistosomiasis have been described in Europe. The present study focuses on eggs, considered pure S. haematobium by genetic characterisation (intergenic ITS region of the rDNA and cox1 mtDNA). Heterogeneous Displacement Effects of Migrant Labor Supply – Quasi-Experimental Evidence From Germany

We provide estimates of the effect of migrant labor supply on resident employment. We exploit variation in the number of asylum seekers eligible to the suspension of a major hiring restriction implemented in a subset of German counties. Our difference-in-difference design allows us to provide evidence from a labor supply shock of migrants on local markets net of their additional spending at arrival that might mask labor market displacement effects. Despite this, we do not find a negative effect on employment growth of natives but only on other foreign residents. This also holds for unskilled employees.
