I denna artikel studerar jag hur uttal presenteras i finska gymnasieläroböcker (n=10) i svenska som andra språk. Syftet är att undersöka vilka uttalsdrag som tas upp i läroböckerna och relationen mellan dessa drag och begriplighet. Metoden som jag använder är kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Prosodiska drag har ansetts ha en stor betydelse för begriplighet. Vad det gäller svenska är speciellt satsrytm viktig. Analysen visar dock att uppmärksamheten oftast fästs vid enskilda segment (språkljud) och ord. The present study aims to provide insights into the experiences of early school leavers within the Finnish context. We conducted a narrative inquiry among eleven early school leavers who were in prison when they were interviewed. Self Determination Theory (SDT), more specifically the concept of frustration of the three basic psychological needs of competence, relatedness and autonomy, and the tendency of people to move towards more supporting environments, was used as an interpretative tool, along with contextual information. The diversity of people, cultures and social situations in Latin America countries does not obstruct the critical and honest dialogue concerning the research carried out on the learning of world problems. Geography, as a science, can contribute to this challenge, but it needs, then, to leave the intellectual, corporate and academic obstacles that prevent its study by the pupils. In this work we communicate the initiatives developed by a group of teachers by means of the Geoforo, which takes advantage of the facilities of the cyberspace, from the Geocrítica portal of the University of Barcelona.
Nuevas faunas de micromamíferos del Terciario continental de la Depresión Intermedia (provincia de Cuenca, España centro-oriental)

In this paper the fossil content of nine new micromammal bearing localities and that of 15 levels in a borehole from the Loranca Basin (eastern Tague Basin, Prov. of Cuenca) is described. The age ranges from early Arvernian (Late Oligocene) to Turolian (Late Miocene). 47 rodent and lagomorph taxons have been found which are arranged in 8 biostratigraphic units. The Loranca-2 borehole contains 15 fossiliferous levels covering the Upper Oligocene/Lower Miocene. These additional data complete the faunal sequence published by Díaz & López(1919). First Evidence of Contourite Drifts in the North-Western Sicilian Active Continental Margin (Southern Tyrrhenian Sea)

We present the results of an integrated geomorphological and seismo-stratigraphic study based on high resolution marine data acquired in the north-western Sicilian continental margin. We document for the first time five contourite drifts (marked as EM1a, EM2b, EM2, EM3a, and EM3b), located in the continental slope at depths between ca. 400 and 1500 m. EM1a,b have been interpreted as elongated mounded drifts. EM1a,b are ca. 3 km long, 1.3 km wide, and have a maximum thickness of 36 m in their center that thins northwards, while EM1b is smaller with a thickness up to 24 m.
