To evaluate the validity and responsiveness of a German-language version of the disease-specific Graves orbitopathy quality-of-life questionnaire (GO-QOL).Prospective cross-sectional study.At a multidisciplinary university orbital center, 310 consecutive unselected Graves orbitopathy outpatients answered the GO-QOL before undergoing complete ophthalmic and endocrine assessment. The main outcome measures were the GO-QOL and its 2 subscales, Visual Functioning and Appearance.The QOL scores for the subscales Visual Functioning and Appearance were (mean ± SE) 72.5 ± 1.4 and 71.3 ± 1.5, respectively. Located in the so-called “Barrière du Lot” in the Martres-de-Veyre district, the “Chaumes d’Allier” funerary area consists of a burial site which was excavated between 1851 and 1923. The exceptional state of preservation of the organic remains which were unearthed there (hair, coffins, pieces of clothing, funerary furniture) granted the site its world-wide reputation although, paradoxically, it remained somewhat overlooked as a whole. The aim of this paper is to shed light on the interpretation of human remains and funerary rituals recently uncovered in the Archaic Necropolis of Motya. During the 20th century about 350 graves were brought to light by earlier explorations, showing that – apart from rare exceptions – adult cremation was the most common rite performed in archaic times (ca. 730-550 BC). This picture can be now changed in the light of the results of our recent fieldwork (seasons 2013-2017), showing that a large quantity of graves strikingly house remains of sub-adult individuals (i.e. foetuses, perinatals and children). AIM OF THE STUDY: To evaluate correlations between pre-operating epidemiological, clinical and diagnostic data and relapses concerning to patients operated on for benign thyroid nodules. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The AA. carried out a new ultrasonographic exam in 155 patients selected at random among 1012 treated by thyroid lobectomy between September 1976 and December 2002; 107 relapses were found (69%).
