The aim of this paper is to study the sidewalk as a communications medium, especially in the urban environment. To do so, we collected a corpus of a thousand institutional, businessrelated or personal messages from the sidewalk. This corpus comprises slogans, advertisements, protests, affectionate statements, congratulations... Accelerating socio-cultural trends that were already present in our contemporaneity, such as functionalism, the control of bodies, the fear of others, forced hygiene, the reduction of essential freedoms, work from home ...
