RiskDemo on vapaasti käytettävä ohjelmistotyökalu, joka on tarkoitettu havainnollistamaan riskejä todennäköisyyslaskennan ja tilastotieteen näkökulmasta. Ohjelmalla voidaan havainnollistaa riskejä monenlaisten graafisten esitysten, taulukoiden ja riskilukujen avulla. Tällä hetkellä sillä voidaan havainnollistaa demografiaa, korko- ja osakesijoittamista sekä klassista vararikkoteoriaa. Tässä artikkelissa esitellään RiskDemo-ohjelmiston ominaisuudet ja opastetaan sen käyttämiseen riskien havainnollistamisessa. In the name of security : Governmentality apparatus in a multilingual mine in Arctic Finland

This critical sociolinguistic study explores how mining work is governed in the name of security in a mine in Arctic Finland. Although the mining industry is dominated by multinational corporations, mines themselves tend to be concentrated in peripheries where a mobile and multilingual workforce is recruited. Mining is a high-risk business: industrial accidents and environmental damage can be severe. Discursive practices play a crucial role in risk management. Purpose The purpose of this study is to provide a contextualized understanding of how business-to-business (B2B) firms use the sales development function for efficient and effective lead funnel management. Design/methodology/approach The authors adopted a qualitative field-study approach and interviewed 13 people from eight firms. Vanhemmat kokevat pikkulapsivaiheen usein haastavana elämänvaiheena. Yksilölliset tekijät vaikuttavat siihen, miten erilaisiin elämäntilanteisiin suhtaudutaan. Aaron Antonovskyn (1987) salutogeeniseen teoriaan keskeisesti kuuluva koherenssin tunne kertoo ihmisen kyvystä käsitellä stressiä ja hyödyntää käytettävissä olevia voimavaroja. Using a dual-process framework, the aim of this research was to investigate the associations between reflective and impulsive processes and saving behavior. Self-control and saving habit were tested as additional factors that potentially moderate the relationship between constructs representing reflective and impulsive processes and behavior, or exert indirect effects on behavior through these systems. Aarne Mäkelä tutki väitöstyössään peruskoulun johtamista ja rehtorin tehtäviä. Tutkimus osoitti, että rehtorin tehtävät ovat muuttumassa. - Pitkän johtajakokemukseni aikana olen tunnistanut, että johtaminen on muuttunut, mutta muutoksen voimakkuus oli yllättävää. Communication Health Check : Measuring Corporate Communication Performance

A Communication Health Check, based on an existing tool for measuring communication quality, was customized for Finnish companies and supporting software was developed to create an online tool. A pilot measurement procedure was performed in a medium-sized company based in the country’s capital, Helsinki. The aim was to see if the tool would be useful in the Finnish context, and whether a benchmarking function or further customization would be preferred.
