Abstract Background Mediterranean spotted fever (MSF) is an acute febrile, zoonotic disease caused by Rickettsia conorii and transmitted to humans by the brown dogtick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. Nearly four hundred cases are reported every year (mainly from June to September) on the Italian island of Sicily. The aim of the study was to analyze the clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients with MSF and the efficacy of the drugs administered. Substrāta un organiskā mēslojuma ietekme uz Dracocephalum moldavica augu augšanu un fizioloģisko stāvokli

Darba mērķis bija novērtēt dažādu substrātu un mēslošanas līdzekļu ietekmi uz augu augšanu, attīstību un to fizioloģiskajiem parametriem. Pētījumu veica ar Moldāvijas pūķgalvi, novērtējot substrātu, mēslojuma veidu un to koncentrāciju ietekmi uz augu augšanu un fizioloģiskajiem procesiem tajos. Augus audzēja veģetācijas traukos, kur par substrātu izmantoja kūdru vai melnzemi, kam pievienoja dažādus mēslojumus: mikrobioloģisko mēslojumu “Biomikss”, minerālo mēslojumu “Kristalon”, kā arī 20% vermikompostu un 30% vermikompostu. Pro gradu -työssäni tutkin 2010-luvun kotimaista sotakuvausta kolmen uuden sukupolven naiskirjoittajan sota-aiheisissa teoksissa. Tutkimuskohteenani ovat Katja Ketun romaani Kätilö (2011), Heidi Köngäksen romaani Dora, Dora (2012) sekä Paula Vesalan sanoitukset Kiestinki-albumille (2011). The Osteocephalus buckleyi species group is widely distributed in primary and secondary forests of the Amazon Basin and Guiana Region. Based on integrative analysis, including morphological and genetic data, we estimate the phylogenetic relationships and species boundaries among populations of the Osteocephalus buckleyi group from the Ecuadorian Amazon, focusing on the O. verruciger-O. cannatellai species complex. Our results uncovered the existence of one confirmed candidate species from Sangay National Park and one unconfirmed candidate species. This study conducted an in-depth analysis of the factors affecting consumers’ intention to purchase and willingness to pay more for an electric vehicle (EV) in the developing-country context, extending the theory of planned behavior with two new variables: environmental concern and willingness to pay (WTP) a premium. Artikkelissa tutkitaan sveitsiläisen kirjailijan Robert Walserin romaania Konttoristi René Girardin esittämän mimeettisen halun teorian, kaunasta virittyvän syntipukkimekanismin ja myös niistä erillisen mimetismin näkökulmista. Girardin teoriaan luodun katsauksen jälkeen eritellään konttoristina työskentelevän päähenkilön asemaa taloudellisen ja sosiaalisen kilpailun piirissä.
