Numerical and experimental analysis of load capacity of pressure vessels for large deformations

Abstract A method of theoretical and experimental investigations of large deformations and load capacity of pressure vessels has been proposed. Algorithms and programs for numerical analysis (with the finite element method) of spatial stress and strain state and load capacity have been worked out according to the Prandtl-Reuss theory of plastic flow. Loading in the vessel was realized in an incremental way. The loading process was continued up to the moment when the maximum loading was obtained (i.e. the moment when state of equilibrium of the vessel was not possible). A simulation model of the draw-works is executed on a PC to simulate the AHC draw-works with a physical PLC. Diagnosis of intermittent fault dynamics

Diagnosis of intermittent faults is relevant for productive processes with a high level of maintenance caused by such failures. A characterization of diagnosed faults may save unnecessary repairs and enable better maintenance planning. This paper introduces the concept of diagnosis of intermittent fault dynamics. Moreover, a methodology for modelling intermittent faults and generating information for maintenance planning in discrete event systems is thoroughly covered.

Abstract Pedestrian simulation is complex because there are different levels of behavior modeling. At the lowest level, local interactions between agents occur; at the middle level, strategic and tactical behaviors appear like overtakings or route choices; and at the highest level path-planning is necessary. Memory irradiation measurements for the European SMART-1 spacecraft

Three different types of memory circuits, that are intended to be used on board of the European satellite SMART-1, have been radiation hardness tested according to ESA's specification. Since the satellite is equipped with an electric propulsion engine, the spacecraft will be exposed to radiation during a long time when passing the radiation belt of the Earth. A standard DRAM circuit from SAMSUNG will serve as building block of the mass memory of SMART-1, and has been tested for total dose and proton induced single event upset (SEU). The Jiles Atherton Model for Description Of Hysteresis in Lithium Battery

In this paper Jiles Atherton (JA) Model is used to obtain a mathematical model of the hysteresis in lithium battery. JA Model allows to describe both the hysteresis and the dynamical features of charging and discharging cycles in a lithium battery. The identification of the model is obtained by using a neural network technique developed for magnetic systems. The model is validated on some experimental tests on commercial batteries.

Towards an extensible simulator of real motion platforms

Abstract The limitations of a real motion platform will not normally be discovered until it is completely built and tested.
