Bayesian correlated models for assessing the prevalence of viruses in organic and non-organic agroecosystems

Cultivation of horticultural species under organic management has increased in importance in recent years. However, the sustainability of this new production method needs to be supported by scientific research, especially in the field of virology. We studied the prevalence of three important virus diseases in agroecosystems with regard to its management system: organic versus non-organic, with and without greenhouse. Prevalence was assessed by means of a Bayesian correlated binary model which connects the risk of infection of each virus within the same plot and was defined in terms of a logit generalized linear mixed model (GLMM). Phylogenomic studies have improved understanding of deep metazoan phylogeny and show promise for resolving incongruences among analyses based on limited numbers of loci. One region of the animal tree that has been especially difficult to resolve, even with phylogenomic approaches, is relationships within Lophotrochozoa (the animal clade that includes molluscs, annelids, and flatworms among others). Overionization in X-ray spectra: a new paradigm for Mixed-Morphology SNRs

Mixed-morphology SNRs are characterized by a shell-like radio emission, a centrally peaked X-ray morphology, and by interaction with molecular clouds. Many models have been proposed to explain these peculiar remnants, but their physical origin is still unclear. The recent discovery of over-ionized (i. e. recombining) ejecta in 3 mixed-morphology SNRs has dramatically challenged all the previous models and opened up new, unexpected scenarios. I review the main properties of these remnants and their peculiar X-ray spectral properties. Method to compute the stress-energy tensor for a quantized scalar field when a black hole forms from the collapse of a null shell

A method is given to compute the stress-energy tensor for a massless minimally coupled scalar field in a spacetime where a black hole forms from the collapse of a spherically symmetric null shell in four dimensions. Part of the method involves matching the modes for the in vacuum state to a complete set of modes in Schwarzschild spacetime. The other part involves subtracting from the unrenormalized expression for the stress-energy tensor when the field is in the in vacuum state, the corresponding expression when the field is in the Unruh state and adding to this the renormalized stress-energy tensor for the field in the Unruh state.
