Aarne Mäkelä tutki väitöstyössään peruskoulun johtamista ja rehtorin tehtäviä. Tutkimus osoitti, että rehtorin tehtävät ovat muuttumassa. - Pitkän johtajakokemukseni aikana olen tunnistanut, että johtaminen on muuttunut, mutta muutoksen voimakkuus oli yllättävää. This research explored the conceptualisation of self-injurious behavior (SIB) in terms of similarities and differences amongst the two types of this behavior. It further explored the efficacy of a brief psychological intervention for SIB as well as the effect of a brief training in the assessment and treatment of SIB on the attitudes psychiatric personnel hold towards people who engage in SIB. The aim of this study was to systematically review lay health worker (LHW)–led self-management interventions for adults with long-term conditions to see how the interventions have been implemented and to compose a synthesis of research findings, taking into consideration the intervention components that have been applied. We conducted systematic searches for articles published between January 2010 and December 2015 in five databases: Cochrane, MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Web of Science. Lea Pulkkinen, born in Finland in 1939, is Emerita Professor of Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland). She is best known for creating the ongoing Jyväskylä Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (JLSPSD). The study was specifically intended to test the hypothesis that the human brain allows for more variation in behavior than the simple ‘fight or flight’ response observed in animal studies of aggression. Servant Leadership in a Nordic Healthcare Organization

The aim of this chapter is to deepen the understanding of employees’ perceptions of servant leadership (SL) in the context of healthcare organizations. The empirical findings are based on the analysis of qualitative data collected in a Nordic healthcare organization that supports SL. Based on theory-driven content analysis, perceptions of SL were evaluated based on Spears’ definition of SL, which this chapter supports and develops. The findings show that SL seems to be a suitable approach for leadership in a healthcare organization. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten organisaation turvallisuuskulttuuria ja kriiseistä oppimista on mahdollista kehittää viestinnän keinoin. Turvallisuuskulttuuri ja kriiseistä oppiminen nivoutuvat tiiviisti yhteen, sillä tutkimus keskittyi siihen, miten kriisejä voitaisiin ennaltaehkäistä ja kuinka niistä voitaisiin oppia sekä etu- että jälkikäteen. Tutkimuskysymyksiä oli kolme: 1. Mistä turvallisuuden kulttuuri koostuu ja miten sellaista luodaan? 2. Miten viestinnän avulla voidaan kehittää organisaation turvallisuuskulttuuria? 3.
