Network Centralities and Node Ranking

An important problem in network analysis is understanding how much nodes are important in order to “propagate” the information across the input network. To this aim, many centrality measures have been proposed in the literature and our main goal here is that of providing an overview of the most important of them. In particular, we distinguish centrality measures based on walks computation from those based on shortest-paths computation. We also provide some examples in order to clarify how these measures can be calculated, with special attention to Degree Centrality, Closeness Centrality and Betweennes Centrality.
A new minimum trees-based approach for shape matching with improved time computing : application to graphical symbols recognition

Recently we have developed a model for shape description and matching. Based on minimum spanning trees construction and specifics stages like the mixture, it seems to have many desirable properties. Recognition invariance in front shift, rotated and noisy shape was checked through median scale tests related to GREC symbol reference database. Even if extracting the topology of a shape by mapping the shortest path connecting all the pixels seems to be powerful, the construction of graph induces an expensive algorithmic cost. I el País Valencia és un territori de I'area mediterrania caracteritzat per la variabilitat i escassetat deis seus recursos hidraulics. Els espais de regadiu que conté són per tant un veritable exponent del patrimoni cultural del qual pot estar orgullós un poble, perque encara són vius. De fet, la cultura de I'aigua transcendeix allo que representa el patrimoni material i referma també el seu caracter immaterial quan s'endinsa en I'ambit de la tradició oral, els sabers i les formes de ser com a poble.

Q-Coh: A tool to screen the methodological quality of cohort studies in systematic reviews and meta-analyses

The evaluation of the methodological quality of primary studies in a systematic review is a key process to enhance the likelihood of achieving valid results. When considering non-randomized designs as cohort studies, this process becomes even more critical, since these designs are more susceptible to bias than randomized controlled trials are. Taking this into account, a tool, named Q-Coh, was designed with the aim to screen the methodological quality of the primary studies with a cohort design priming specificity over sensitivity in a reasonable application time. In the title compound, C20H11F2N5O, the central 13-membered ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.028 Å) makes a dihedral angle of 53.13 (7)° with the difluorophenyl ring and 79.98 (7)° with the pyridine ring. The crystal packing features aromatic π–π interactions between the 13-membered rings [shortest distance between ring centroids = 3.5682 (8) Å].

[Background] It is unknown whether individuals at high cardiovascular risk sustain a benefit in cardiovascular disease from increased olive oil consumption. The aim was to assess the association between total olive oil intake, its varieties (extra virgin and common olive oil) and the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in a Mediterranean population at high cardiovascular risk.
